I have to take 3 buses to get to school. They take forever to get to there, and when they do they dont stop they just sora slow down enough so I can run and jump inside. Then once inside it smells like some sort of barn. If that wasnt bad enough, its 2 freakin bucks a ride, with no transfers. I have to take the Bus a total of 36 times a week. That would be 73 bucks a week! So I just buy the 20 dollar week passes.

Now for my main point. I bought a week pass last week to begin using today. So Im waiting at the bus stop for almost half hour and when it finally gets there and I jump inside the obese bus driver tells me that the week pass was expired, when ive NEVER used it. I was swindled!! Now theres no way for me to make it to school on time, and I think I might have had a test today

Damn, that sucks. Your school doesn't offer any kind of pass for the transit system? Mine does , it's free to ride the bus and the lightrail so I take the lightrail to school to save gas . I could drive but why would I if it takes the lightrail 10 minutes to get to school during the morning commute.

Busses here will give you a discount if you're a student and under the age of 18. Even after I was out of school, I would still pay the discounted rate.

Is there a classmate that you could car pool with instead? Or maybe even a teacher?

They changed that age to 19 over here so itīs fairly cheap for me to get to school.

But they can be so crowded with people that you can barely move in them.

Florida buses suck even more than Chicago buses, but at least they were cheaper. It was 3 dollars for an entire day. Of course youd spend an entire day getting anywhere.

Oh man, the buses in San Francisco are so easy. The fare's $1.50, you get an hour and a half transfer, about half the drivers give you about an hour or more extra, and the long-term passes are monthly instead of weekly, for $45. (Right now I'm only spending $24 a month on bus fares, so I don't go with the monthly passes.)

Almost every line runs every ten or fifteen minutes, and the ones that run less often aren't popular so they're usually pretty empty. Very occasionally one of the popular buses doesn't go by for like a half hour and then it's hideously crowded and slow, but eh. It's infrequent.

So basically what I'm saying is, I'm glad I'm not you. ;D

it is amazing how much disparity in bus service right across the bay. AC Transit as a bunch of busses running with fares and transfers. However, it is as how Sion descrbied in that the busses pretty much arrive when they want. When you need a bus, it is never there and when you don't need it, they show up. On top of that, some drivers give you attitudes. Fortunately, I have a pass that allows me to take any AC transit busses for free, but for the amount of time you wait, it isn't worth it. It sucks that I'm obligated to pay for it too... stupid campus initiative

Anyways, how far do you live from school? Because at some point, I gave up on the buses and just decided to walk home (20 minutes).

Included in OSU's tuition is free COTA service, which is Columbus area. I don't use it often, but it can come in very handy. OSU also has its own free Campus Area Bus Service, which is also good when I'm lazy.

NYC busses are terrible. Never on time. And then the bus driver's are dicks too. Train announcers are worse though. My friend was trying to keep the door open for this old women to hobble onto the train.. and the anouncer.. like for the whole train to hear was like "You fucking asshole get in the goddamn train!!". Oh, the 9 train. Gotta love NYC.

I hope you raised hell about being sold an expired pass.

The buses in Toronto are nice. $2.50 gets you anywhere no matter how many buses or trains you need to take to get there. Not too hard to figure out either, I only missed my stop the very first time, so I just took another train back to it.

I know what you mean, though. I had to take the school bus most of my life. If you sit in the front, you're lame, if you sit in the back, you're surrounded by morons. I had to take 3 there and 3 back at one point. Not fun, especially since it means another 2 hours a day wasted just getting to school and back.

You complain about buses, yet there is not one bus stop in this city.

At all.

The only buses you see are the ones used for school. We have taxi's though. Individual ones and a van type of taxi that takes a few people at once.

But nothing after that.

But we have people on horses.

omfg.

I kid you not.

Well, I strongly dislike the buses here too, but at least they sound a bit better than your system.

Adelaide's transit system is just weird. Some areas, the buses are really good. Some areas, not so much. Some areas you can more or less have your pick of lots of buses and get where you're going easily. My current area is not one of those areas.

I live on a major road now; so I should theoretically have access to decent public transport. However, it appears that any time between 8.05 am and 5.00pm, there are NO (yes, NO) buses at all. Which is just strange on one of the City's major roads.

Weird weird bus system.

WTF, our buses are awesome here. They usually get on time, are clean and modern and have nice Bus drivers.

What makes the buses so bad over there? :p
