Okay, I just spent an hour loking through the GFX files of SMW, looking for ONE animated 8x8 tile... the water. Where on earth is it? O_o
All I can find are two static 8x8 tiles.

Actually, the water tile is changed in-game by SMW's ASM.

Sorry, that won't work.

I believe it is is one tile the just goes back and forth. It drove me nuts for a while too as I found some other misleading tiles.

I don't the the bin numbers its in, but check after the tiles for the Yoshi coin, its below that and all the way to the left and above the normal ground tiles.

Custom animated tile support really should've been added to the overworld.

wtf... So I can't ExGFX water into lava for my volcano world?

That sucks

Edit: I have devised a workaround, I believe. But first I need this thread to resolve.

You can, if you choose to sacrifice some other graphics. If I remember correctly, the tiles you need to edit are within GFX14, the same GFX with the pipes and stuff. Personally, I changed my water animations into...water. Except I unintentionally made it look "wavy", so so speak.

Hence the edit

I just need to know where the left-moving waterfall gfx are, since that's what I intend to replace.

And it's not GFX14. The only complete thing that has is the end waterfall gfx.

... Although... I could probably take out my waterfall, or hide the end behind something

Or if you dont want to sacrifice anything, you can just edit the 'lava world' pallete so water is red.

Yes, but it'll just look like red water. For it to really look like proper lava, you'd need them to hava their own tiles.

Well, I've set up a bubbling lava animation. It'd be nice to be able to overwrite the left/right as well, for a bubbling at a different pace, but I'm quite pleased with what I've come up with so far.
