The irritated grunts coming from the thugs at the tables indicated that it was time for Mitra to get back onto the stage.

Mitra: Oh dearie me.. It seems like Ah have to go back on stage. It was nice talking to ya'll. Ah'll see ya'll later later *winks*

Mitra placed a decently sized nugget of gold onto the counter, and started walking back to the stage.

Mitra stepped by the bulky pianist and gave him a tap on his hardened back.

Pianist: End of break-goro?

Hikari: She seems to be trying her darnest to have one day without anythin' happenin'. *shifts eyes around* This combination of people at the bar isn't sittin' well with some of those guys, I'm sure.... I'll have ta thank Mitra for paying..

Star: "... coward..."

Nijote: "Oh thank God! He didn't fight... this means I don't have to worry."

Nijote relaxed a little, it was good to get a lucky break every now and then.

Johnathan dusted his hands off as he re-entered the bar, having left Star's feet blocked in permafrost... For at least a little longer, the drunkard would be frozen to the ground. He was so out of his skull that Johnathan wondered if he'd even notice...

Johnathan: "No, no fights today... Not with that sort. It is a shame that we cannot stay and see Mitra for longer, as well. You are correct, she is most definitely trying to keep the peace around here. It is quite admirable... However, should we not be going, Miss Hikari?"

He adjusted his glasses and stared off at the stage.

"Leave her to her work. It will be best if we say our goodbyes so as not to discourage her."

Random Guy: Knew it! Yer fulla dodongo dung! Them's playing cards you been hidin'.

Random Guy 2: Joo see nathing, mang. Eets jus' collectibles.

Hikari made sure her drink was finished. She then let out a sigh.

Hikari: Alright.. Hey Bartender.. Be sure to thank Mitra for paying.

Bartender: Ah will, Miss.

Hikari: C'mon, Glenn, let's get going.

A small storm began to brew over the town, but it was just thunder and lightning, no promise for rain. The ice around Star's feet were melting.

Nijote: "You shouldn't just left him alone, but now you're really encouraging not only a fight..."

Star held his sword into the air and lightning struck him, right in the middle of town. The ice was gone and there was a very loud sound of thunder.

Nijote: "Ahhh forget it!"

Nijote jumped from the window, ran as fast as she could, tackled Star, took out something that looked like a needle, and injected him with a massive amount of tranquilizer.

Nijote: "I just hope no one saw that..."

Nijote calmly strolled back towards the saloon, she wasn't having any luck outside anyways.

The man who had been sitting in the corner of the bar waited a bit after Hikari and the rest got up to leave. He didn't want it to be obvious that he was trailing them. Throwing a bit of money on the counter, he winked at Mitra and walked out of the bar...just in time to see Nijote's little stunt.

"Darlin', I think it would be rather difficult for anyone around to not notice someone leaping from the second floor of a building. So what'd you have to go and do that for?"

Nijote: "Unlike all of you, I don't have time to waste. You should be glad, he has the ability to channel lightning and with the city being so dry and hot, he'd probably start a fire!"

Nijote sat at the bar, it was much better here without Star pestering her.

Hikari momentarily thought she should grab something from the bar, when, all of a sudden, a body flew through the doors.

Mitra: Aw, shoot.

Hikari: Looks like Mitra's wish goes unfulfilled today.

A tall, lanky man wearing a poncho that's much too short decked the thug that bounced a body earlier out the saloon.

Lanky Man: Hey! You knocked over my drink!

Another Guy: Ah don't give a rat's ass about no drink of yers. But you done ruined mah perfect hand, you git!

And then that tall man was tackled into the ground by the other guy, whose game was ruined.

All of a sudden, a youthful looking man, who was riddled with pimples appeared to just say one thing.

Youth: BAR FIIIIIGHT!

Immediately after he shouted, the young man was conked on the head with a whiskey bottle.

Hikari: On second thought, I think I'll pick it up on the next delivery. C'mon, boys.

The fight had started just after Nijote had walked into the bar, followed by the mysterious dark man. He sidestepped a thrown chair and walked into the middle of the room. The fight whirled all around him, a scene of chaos, but he seemed remarkably calm. In a sort of Zen fighting style, he casually moved an arm or a leg to the side just in time to catch one of the combatants in the middle of some quick movement. In a minute or two, some of them had started noticing.

Tall Man: It's him! That thar varmint's been hittin' us unwary!

Short, creepy guy: Less geddim!

The man smiled at this proposition, and a few seconds later there was a mess of combatants, all fighting each other, where he had been. The man took a seat at the bar next to Nijote and ordered a drink.

"So, pretty lady, can I buy you something to drink?"

Hikari: I'm just glad I was able to finish my drink before they ran a man through it.

Hikari let out a dreamy sigh as she greeted the horses. Her short bliss was interupted by a 'YEEE-HAW!' coming from inside the saloon. A burly man in a trenchcoat lept out of the front window. There was a flowing stream of golden strands and feathers tagging behind the man as he hopped onto a horse.

Burly Man: Let's git!

Aparantly, the strange stretchy berserker inside didn't take out the only man to not participate in a fight.

Hikari glanced at the man taking off on the horse. She didn't give it much attention as he took off to the eastern edge of town.

Hikari: ... Wait a minute, he's got a hold of Mitra.

Nijiote: "...Give me a second... I'll probably need a drink if I heard that right."

Nijote sat completely awestruck. The name echoed around in her head continously.

"Mitra Mitra Mitra"

Nijote: "He... told me the wrong name..."

Nijote remember the exact discription of who she was supposed to find. A dancer at a saloon to protect from bandits, named Mira.

Nijote: "Ugh..."

Nijote put her head to the bar.

Nijote: "This sucks."

"Bartender! Get something strong for this lady here. I think she needs it."

The mysterious man got up from the bar and walked over to the fight still going on between the two men left standing. A swift sweep kick put them both on the floor, and neither was exactly in the mood to continue. With that, the man walked back to the bar next to Nijote. Taking a swig from his drink the bartender set down in front of him, he turned to the woman.

"Alright, darlin', now that the ruckus is over, mind telling me what the problem is?"
Sinfjotle

Nijote: "I'm an assassin... but I take mercenary work."

Nijote looked at the glass the bartender put on the bar.

Nijote: "I was supposed to protect the girl that just got kidnapped, and I've never failed a mission. Ever. Now I've let her get kidnapped."

Nijote grabbed the glass and emptied it all at once. She stood up and walked out of the bar. Time for a rescue mission it seemed.

The man quickly finished his own drink and ran to follow Nijote, tossing some money the bartender's way. He stepped over a few men who had fallen in the fight on his way out, grabbing one's hat, since he liked the color.

"Wait up! I feel awful, since I'm sure my intervention in the fight probably helped whoever get away with her. Let me come with you. If these kidnappers mean business, even someone as able as yourself could probably use the help."

The man was dressed rather shabbily, and fit in well as a drifter in the town. At least he did now that he had the hat, which covered his somewhat spiky short dirty blonde hair. He appeared young, but as his eyes flashed with the sunlight as he met her gaze, Nijote saw that he had experience on his side.

"The name's Nova. Yours?"

Hikari sighed once again as she untied three of the horses from the carriage. She brought a horse over to Glenn and Johnathan. She grabbed a quiver and a bow from the carriage, and climbed ontop of her horse.

Hikari: I hope ya'll snap out of it. Unless none of you men feel like being a knight in shinin' armor to her.

The girl clicked her tounge three times, giving her horse the signal to haul ass.

Glenn grabbed his bo staff from the back of the carriage before jumping on his horse and riding off with the others.

Hikari: Hah. Doesn't seem like that fella has much of a brain!

The burly man stopped at a rundown shack on the eastern outskirts of town. The man hopped off of the horse, with Mitra on his shoulder.

Hikari: Got any ideas on how to deal with this, Glenn?

Nijote: "I'm Nijote, be worried if you see me again after all of this."

Nijote laughed a little and then took off towards the stables. She got her own horse, a sturdy black mare, it looked like a race horse and as Nijote took off, it really seemed like one.

Nijote: "I can hear them..."

Nijote's mare ran towards the rundown shack. She would be there in a few seconds and she already had an idea.

Nova: Now that's a nice mount. Just wait until she sees mine.

With that, Nova pulled out a bell and tinkled it a bit. Seemingly out of nowhere, a great sabrecat lept over the bar and landed in front of the mysterious stranger. He hopped on and the creature took off like a flash, quickly making up lost ground on Nijote.

Nova: Oh come on, I'm not going to let you out of my sight quite that easily.
