Oh and while we're on the subject of seriousness about MISSINGNO, I found this page that explains the advance generation's MISSINGNO variations in a little more detail. Speaking of which, I have one of these things on my Leaf Green game.

Also, see this page on the same site for G/S/C MISSINGNO.

There's bad egg ?? and (?) in Ruby/Sapphire. I guess the ?? is either placeholder graphics, or just a old version of the (?).

The (?) is used in the Pokedéx for Pokémon not found yet.

you would think...after 4 or 5 versions of the game, the makers of the game would find a way to make sure the game doesn't glitch like this?

Actually, MISSINGNO. was made in order to stop glitches like that. If you tried to encounter him in the original Japanese Red or Green versions, the game would lock up. So in the Japanese Blue, they created MISSINGNO. However, as we all know, MISSINGNO. wasn't meant to be encountered and is still pretty glitchy itself. But at least it doesn't freeze.

What my sister saw when she tries to use her Crystal game on a super gameboy...

(Gold and Silver runs fine on a orginal Gameboy, although I noticed that some things went little faster on a GBA than on my orginal Gameboy. Such as the move hidden attack. It lagged more on the old gameboy...)

I believe the correct name of the move in question, Ailure, is Hidden Power. Not Hidden Attack. Unless you really meant a hidden attack, such as one of those glitch moves.

And of course it's going to be less laggy on the GBA. The processor is more powerful, so it can perform calculations faster. On a side note, the Super Gameboy runs games at a faster speed than the normal gameboys; although the Gameboy Player runs games at their proper speed.
