Crash Badndicoot would be Mr. Game&Watch's answer to Kirby in a way that I used to pwn at SSB with Kirby, then I used to moreso pwn with Mr. G&W in SSBM. Crash Bandicoot would be even more pwn than Mr. G&W if I played as him in such a game.

My own ideas for smash..

Characters need to be more represented by their current/best line of games. For example Luigi needs to be less Mario like and more geared towards Luigi's mansion which is his primary title and Maybe have two links but have small link the Cel shaded version from Wind Waker and the adult as the link from Twilight Princess. Just adds a bit of veriety.

Possible costume varients. Mario could have Normal, Dr Mario and Paper Mario etc costume choices. This could give Hal Labs the chance to free up some character slots and create more individual characters.

Stronger female characters. I always hated using Peach and Zelda they never seem to have enough kick in them. Samus was the only sturdy fem character. Maybe some of the women from Advance Wars. Those hardened bitches would kick Mario's arse.

NEW EDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS TO THE CHARACTER LIST
LUIGI -
WARIO - Pre-Wario Land 4...prefferably Wario Land 1...Stronger than mario but slower with similar moves
CAPTAIN OLIMAR - can pull out pikmin similar to Link's Bombs and throw them. Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple, White Pikmin all with powers that are relevant to their use in the games.
WALUIGI - Disagree with the use of Waluigi..he would surely just be another clone of Mario or Luigi or a lanky version of Wario. And he sucks anyway.
TOAD - This little guy hasnt had the limelight since Super Mario Bros 2 (USA) and seriously needs to have a comback that doesnt involve being pulled from Peaches Skirt. Could be equipped with SMB2 vegetables.
KOOPA TROOPA - Agree as previously stated by others that he needs to have a presence in this game. He ruled in Super Mario Kart and is always the best of the weaker bad guys in everygame yet Nintendo very rarely use him.
GANONDORF - Not the Zelda 64 version but rather the fatter scarier Wind Waker one with the duel blades.
FALCO - Must keep cause hes my fav and absolutely is the fastest character!!!
NOOK - Cooler than the main animal crossing character and could easily kick your arse with the shovel.
SONIC & KNUCKLES - I know they arent nintendo characters but if anyone can make these characters cool its Hal Laboratories. Sega im sure owe nintendo one after they got the chance to work on something as excellent as F-Zero. Tails needs to stay well away cause he's basicly the Robin of Video Game sidekicks...Crap!
TOADSWORTH - Don't know why but this old codger fascinates me. He's like toad very very old. Bit like how Donkey Kong Jr became the current DK.
DELFINO ISLE NATIVES - Whatever they are called i hate them and they are without a doubt the worst of nintendo's character creation next to waluigi. They should not exist anywhere in this game. As characters or even in the background.

ARENAS
- Worms type destructable landscape perhaps. This would co-incide with the use of Knuckles for example who could hit the ground causing an earthquake.
- Other characters like Bowser could ground slam ripping a whole in the earth like he does in Super Mario Bros 3.
- Really need to be more geared towards each character more. Each level would show off a piece of nintendo history; something that combined with the trophies and collection of characters would be great for those of us who have spent 2 decades enjoying their creations.Nostalgia amongst older video gamers is a hit that needs to be taken advantage of more. Not in a profit way but more of a show of appreciaton towards us. The revolution after all is going to backwards compatible with emulating older systems and running gamecube games so this would all fit perfectly.
- Levels which utilizes the hitting off walls/wall jumping elements of SSBM. What i mean is shafts for the characters to wall jump off. Maybe a two leveled arena and then a level that is surrounded by walls except for a shaft in the middle that is the only location to KO. This would encourage more use of the smackdown attacks and keep the mayhem of the bottom part of Hyrule Temple without having to keep that crap awful arena.

ITEMS
- They need to keep the baseball bat bag mode which was excellent fun though shortlived. And maybe add the bag as an actual prop for arenas.
- Make the lightsword beam more prominent. It lost its charm in SSBM but was excellent on the 64.
- Not sure if this would work but one idea was unique character items. A bit like the ones in Mario Kart that are specific to who you are. Would mean killer moves were possible but not all the time and minus a crappy charge meter.
- Dum down the POKEMON balls...theyre getting to be a bit too much. I always used them to hit people in the face with anyway. Very rarely for the contents inside.


CONTROLS
The implementation of the Revolution controller could be for item throwing. The left analog would be specific for moving your character while the remote could be flicked to use/throw whatever item that character was holding. My opinion is that we aren't informed enough yet about what the new controller is capable of so to make a proper opinion isn't wise. However Smash Bros as a game seems more at home showboating the online capabilities of the revolution rather than the use of it's controller.

No combos. The joy of the game has always come from the fact that being shit at it is never too much of a problem. You dont have to pause the game just to look at a damn long list of button presses or keep them stored in your head. Its the reason that the game is so level. One person can easily win with Samus but another might be crap. This has always been due to the characters' physical attributes like their weight or speed rather than the special moves they can pull off. I hate bowser for the reason hes way too slow but im sure some out there love him.

Im sure there is more stuff but can't think of any right now. Love to see what people agree/disagree with and i know not all is possible but with the power of the Rev i can't possibly see how anything not being added could be down to CPU specs. Theres no excuse if theres too little arenas or not enough veriety in characters.

Cel-shaded Link could be a costume. Maybe Fierce Deity Link as a hidden character. Or even cooler, there could be an item that transforms the character into a more powerful version (like Zelda turns into Shiek); it'd allow a crapload of characters without the problem of them all being clones as well. (Mario -> Wario, Luigi -> Waluigi, Yoshi -> Birdo, etc.)

Thus throwing the point of SSB's simplicity out the window. The whole reason I enjoyed them was that it's easy to pull off a specific move. If it turns into another "press Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start to punch" game, then screw it.

you obviously lack the READING COMPREHENSION skill. Combos, in any game that has this sort of fighting form, is not "do crazy joystick motion and light punch", its a string of attacks that link together and have zero downtime/recovery time between hits.

but anyways stage ideas

1. Tick Tock clock- It'd be like fighting in Castlevania's clock tower. Tons of gears, cogs, and other clock mechaniss to climb and fight on. And it'd have a giant cuckoo bird that would appear out of a hole at totally random intervals (without any warning, mind you) and knock you off the stage. You'd have to make sure you kept your ground on the constantly rotating gears. It'd be a fun stage to play, i think.

2. a level that's like the classic hyrule castle but it its FE related.

3. Bowser's Castle SMB3 style. Lazers, fireballs, discs. All complete with a breakable floor and awesome music.

4. Airship - Just like the SMB3 levels.

5. Tourain- Super Metroid style. Disintegrating skeletons of various monsters, acid, and Mother brain's nerve-y things.

6. Saturn Valley or Moonside. Either or, they'd both kick ass.

7. Delfino island

8. Mario bros. classic.

9. DUCK HUNT. you could pick up the ducks and beat the dog with them.

for some more characters, on top of advance wars, there needs to be Star Wolf, Fawful, and maybe a few custom robo mehca. Oh, and Cranky Kong, snice he'd have kickass cane moves.

and new items need to be in the form of shortly lived NES accessories.

Powerpad: Speed boost of some kind
Power Glove: weaker Falcon Punch-type move
R.O.B- wait fuck that, make him an actual character.

That disputable. Falco actually spends more time in the air than fox which is the way i use the character and most of Falco's aerial moves are superior to foxes in terms of speed. Falco runs slower than fox but makes up for that with his excellent smash attacks. When me (Falco) and my mate (Fox) played on the Great Fox arena i was always the first to pick up the items we were racing for despite our skill being near identical. There was always something graceful about pitting those two together.

Ooh and another idea for an arena: The final battle on top of Ganon's tower in WW with all the water flooding in.

Is it just me or do we need some more homeage to SMW2? A Yoshi's Island stage would be alot of fun to play on and very interesting, too! I think an SML stage is in order, too. Something of an excuse to bring back the classics and re-introduce Wario--properly. And for crying out loud...Mach Rider <3

Yea, and they SHOULD pay some homage to Yoshi's Island, because they've done Yoshi stages, but they were Mario World and Yoshi's Story, not Yoshi's Island.

I'm hoping there'll be a lot of new stuff. After all, they're building off of Melee, I would imagine.

Mach Rider isn't even a bike game .__.;; and they made a medly of Mach Rider songs as the alternate music to Big Blue in SSBM. It's almost like they were going to do something with that (like the Balloon Fighter music in Ice Mountain)

And no, if it's a complex series of button presses to use a specific move, it is not generally referred to as a combo (though technically it does fit the definition).

Idea for stage: Shroob Mothership (outside). It would be large and roundish, plus Shroob saucers would randomly fly in and shoot at you, plus a random Thwomp from the volcano in the background.

Either way, so long as it brings back what we all love, Ill be happy with this game. Its smash bros for crying out loud... (Though I do admit that the controller is SERIOUSLY making me cringe right now... )
