I was inspired by Metroid Prime Echoes...

What is we were to make a SMW hack based off of Light and Dark Dimensions, and you could only progress by switching dimensions and defeating the levels to open new paths in current dimension or other dimension; it would randomize. Any thoughts.

Sounds interesting. Incidently, one of the levels I am close to making (one or two levels away) has a similar prospect, except it's a "mirror world" where things are only slightly different on each side, and you must exploit these differences to advance in the level. Now, if only I could find the offset for the speed of the brown platform, I'd be pretty much set.

Two things are holding me back...
1. I can't upload backgrounds and Fg correctly. Sometimes if i'm lucky
2. I don't know ASM hardly.

But I'm awesome at level design so I know if i could master those two things I would deliver some of the best hacks ever, but I can't learn without step by step examples, y'know.

Well, the former is a basic thing that you will learn in good time. If you need any help with doing so, don't hesistate to ask. As for the latter, it's a tricky thing to get down. Best you stick with something simple first, then move on to ASM-heavy hacks.

I remember a project where someone planned to do 2 hacks, one in the past and one in the future and you have to swith the savegame to the other rom to continue at certain points.
New ideas always sound great. Do it! (XD)

With as many levels as there are in SMW you could easily do this without asm hacking. Just make a new graphic for doors (light and dark portals) and set it to a different level to load when you go through the portal. If you need more ideas simply look back on how they did that with SMB2

Gyah. I'm-a start making a thread about general ideas that will never be put to use if mentioned in an otherwise un general ideas thread.

I'm thinking of using "Mario and Luigi" Sprites; all I have to do is skew it on "paint" down 25% and paste it; I've done that with "MAL" goombas before and they looked awesome!

About the light and dark stuff. Do you get to pick your side light or dark, or are you both?

I think he was refering to a level that you will be able to change from light or dark world, like a cheaper version of the season planet in kirby superstar

Oh, okay I get what you mean now. It is like going from a dark planet to a light one. Is there going to be two sets of overworlds to?

That would be cool traveling from 1 overworld to another. If you need any help or resources ask me. I am positive I could find you some resources, but my help may be limited.

This Idea is for the future; I'm still working on my hack about elements. Your welcome to help with that too; you check out my demo down several threads; there's some glitches, but try to see the overall beauty of my unique design of levels; any help would be phoenomonal!

okay, well you can ask Riku. If you need a resource or a program. Normally I can find it. I found a free version of RPGmaker XP, but anyways. I will try it and try to help you.
