I put my bg in the 16x16 tile editor, I press f9, but wen i come back to the level or open it in the rom, the bg is replaced by the the 8x8 tiles that it replaced when I used m16-7k. I press insert gfx to rom and insert exfgx to rom but nothing helps. I read the tut by ice man but it doesn't help. Am I doing something wrong? If i press f9 in the 8x8 editor, it replaces crucial in game sprties.

Also is there any way i can place a bg in there without glitching game sprites? I know for sure that my bg isn't too big because in iceman's m16-7k tut, his bg is bigger than mine and comes out perfect. HELP

m16-7k is somewhat buggy. Don't use it unless you want your hack to become messed up to the point where ZSNES 1.42+ won't run it (1.36 works fine, for some reason, but it's hard to find). Oh, and are you sure you're following the instructions EXACTLY? Are you using a blank ExGFX file? Is it set in the level where you want to put it?

Yup im using a blank exgfx. Wait maybe u can help. after I input the m16-7k , the window pops up as usual. On the two rows marked original to mapped tiles, what do you pick? Do you have to choose a specific # from 000 - FFF or just anything? If you do have to pick a specific value, according to what. The value of the blank exgfx? Can you explain it to me?

I'm not sure. I believe you have to enter the value of where you want the mapping to start in the "add value" section. For example, if you wanted it to start on Page 0x16, you would enter 1600. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what else to do. Just make a backup of your hack and experiment around, entering various logical values into the boxes (think before you enter them) until you find out what's going one. Otherwise, ask Ice Man.
