Do these look better?

Oh,Yoshi just got stars so that's not a glitch in the above screenshot. I meant the background pallete.

Oh, and I tried to use green coins, and they dont ruin the sound. I just get a different sound or no sound. I mean they don't like make it sound bad. They just make it sound different, that's what it says in Eggvine. I've been doing that so I could save more room for more enemies b/c some levels don't let you use a lot of sprites.

The layer 2 palette doesn't look that much better than the one on the third screen. Keep on switching it until you find a palette that looks good to you.

Also, you don't need green coins to save some space for sprites when you can expand the level. That's what I did for the Burt the Bashful battle in my hack. If you didn't know about level expanding, now would be a good time since you are already in the 3rd world.

There are too many things changed for me to point out and say they're all awesome.

They're just all awesome. Except a few of those sound tracks suck.

Man, you make me really want to update my Snifit Sturm Graphics patch. Goddamn that was old. Needs a redo with a better pallete. In fact I think I did the Sniffit Sturm hack before I knew how to pallete edit XD. Actually, I'll make that my project for next week.

And you're going to hate me when I update my Balance Hack. Because then you'll have to update again. Even so, nice work. You should start experimenting with Sappy though, and see if you can get Ember's theme into AW2 from the Midi instead. Because after playing Custom Wars with her, it's just not the same.

Only if you use the ROM Dumps that are around on the net. They're all trash. Especially as the Mode7 one is the only one you'll usually find. I made a patch a while ago that converts the Mode7 Dump of AW2 to my personally ripped copy (AW2Aus...Which is AW2 (U), except the header reports as AW2 (E). ; ). The Mode7 Dump is especially notorious for crashing and whitescreening when hacked. I'd assume the same happens when one uses it on a flashcard.

...

I can't find the patch, I'll have to make it again and put it up again later. ;

Goddamn, this took way too long. The routine was supposed to take me half an hour, not six hours
The subscreen is an absolute MESS. Rather than store each tab or statistic as an individual string, it just chucks a mass of tiles to the screen then loads a tilemap from SOMEWHERE (haven't figured out where just yet.) What's worse is that because of this, it's expecting a lot of 16x16 characters for everything that isn't a string variable; if it doesn't get what it's expecting, bad shit happens. Rather than try to VWF the entire thing, which would be a huge mess, I'm probably just going to hackjob it and use painted text for my statistics, tabs, etc - in other words, everything that's static.

...need to move the sprites for those item icons up a bit, too.

Note that none of the items you see here actually exist in the game. They're "fake" items Haeleth created (although they're missing most of their data at present) to aid with testing. The "Sharp Melon" comes from a blunder on the kanji artist's part - instead of attacking you with sharp claws, some enemies attack with sharp melons. This has been fixed in the script :p

S.N.N. -- those Morrowind shots are amazing. I really enjoyed how the forest looked...few people get it right.

You should consider moving up to Oblivion at some point. The same magic isn't quite there, but the modding capabilities are nearly endless (not that Morrowind had _limitation_ as a problem).

Here it is, might as well finish Wario 3 before I work on Time Flies. I just finished World 2-1, Wario's in a tight spot...

Look for a release soon...

Yeah, the Snifit graphic does need updating. If you want Xen, I can send you the new Menu and Battle Snifit sprite I used in the hack since the ones in your old hack had different coloured eyes. 0_0 But yeah his pallet colours need updating.

This time I won't hate you when you update the balance hack since I have found a easy way of adding the updated changes in. What I have to do is make a IPS patch by using the 'Ember Hack' as the original rom and the 'Balance Hack' as the modified rom.

Then why I apply the new patch to the Ember Hack, only the necessary changes made in the 'Balance Hack' will be made which leaving the other changes alone. Only thing is I will need to add back in however is Ember's abilities but that will not take so long.

Depending on when you release the update will depend on whether it will appear in the next update or not.

As for Sappy, I'm having trouble getting it to add Custom Midi files in. It keeps saying a file can't be found. I need to have another look at it. I think I'll need to send kawa a sceenshot of what is happening and see if he can help me fix the problem.

Also while I'm at it I need to ask if there is a way to make the midi's loop. I think I will need to have a look at the data in a hex editor.

However, an alternative for now could be to add a midi which loops from another GBA game which fits Ember's personality and sounds like a AW2 theme.

Thank you for the comments. However, I will probably never make mods for Oblivion - for some reason, I really did not like that game after playing Morrowind. It just seemed too .. eh .. bland. Not as immense, to say the least. That, and the fact my computer isn't good enough to run it without lagging into oblivion

Tell me what you think about these screenshots. I know it says 3-2,but I fixed 2-8 a little bit. I just have one problem though. I looked for the addresses of the levels in the archive so I could expand them like Fabio said, but when I add sprites to one room( I added like a few more sprites),if I go make another room,I go back to the first room in Eggvine, and the door is gone.(well,if someone could help me to see what I did wrong, that would help.)That was the sprite I added before and in Level 10 in Eggvine, and now it says 18 out of 18 again like it was in the original. I dont really know about level expanding. Well, this is my first real game of Super Mario World 2. The other rooms I showed work fine except for the one where I added another room(that's Level 10 in Eggvine) and a door leading to the sewer room.

Oh,I disabled Layer 3 in ZSNES to show that. It really should look dark like in the sewers and w/the spotlight.

There is something hidden in this next screenshot. See if you can figure it out,and tell me,but I dont want to give it away. I will tell you if you are right.

New bandit room in 2-8 w/those things that hurt you if you jump on them.
