Okay here's my last screenie of Blue Mario Bros. 3...

All that's left for Lags80 to do is change 10 more levels and change the world maps from world 2 through 8 and the hack is done. If anything fellas, I'll be making a thread on who wants to beta test the hack before release.

This hack should be done (give or take) two weeks or less.

I guess this would go here, felt like making myself a new splash screen for YY-CHR >.> uses a whole 6 pallete rows, most of that being transitions in the gradient and the highlight on the nose :p

I'm liking the translucent effect the ground gives. Looks like a very mystical cave...I'm going to assume thats the effect you're trying to get

That's cool, but YI has no scorebars for a reason: it uses layer 3 effects a lot. Unless those are all sprites...

They were sprites. Like I said, I was able to implement them fairly easily, but the counters were screwed. I figure I might get a little more knowledge in that area, then try working the counters again later on, probably closer to the end of the hack

I can't really give you a picture of a text file, but... I can drop a couple key words from it's commenting:

"KompreSS",
"Public function Comp", and
"Public function Decomp"

Figure out what they mean.

"Windows DLL."

Screw ActiveX, I have the power of a linker proxy for VB6. ^^ So... this would work for C++, In case anyone is interested in a KA editorfor NES if there isn't already one, since KA and KSS use the same compression format.

I've been hesitant about posting this for a while, mainly out of paranoia. But then I finally thought, hell, worth a shot, right?

So, I've been working on a hack of Ike! Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu for about the past year. Among other things, I added a lacrosse team. Between the technical limitations and trying to match the style, though, I've had some trouble getting their sticks to look good.

That's the way it currently appears in the game. It's passable, I guess, and it does look better than earlier attempts, but it still seems like I could do a better job somehow. I don't suppose anybody has any suggestions for how I could improve it?

I'd go to Google images to get inspiration from real hokey pictures...
Also, I'd cover up those "holes" in your 3rd frame, better have black or blue around the hand rather than transparency like that...

Again, that's supposed to be a lacrosse player, but yeah, I've tried Googling for inspiration. That's how I've managed to reach even that point.

As for your other suggestion, while it was the stick that I was primarily concerned about, I did go ahead and try filling in some of the transparency around the hands in the third frame. It does look better that way, but it's so quick in the actual game that I wouldn't really notice either way. Still, thanks.

As your attorney a fully functioning sports reporter who covers lacrosse, I'd say those are good. Only thing is the net needs to be more centered at the tip of the stick. The second sprite's the worst offender (really, only offender) but you're not bad. And they wear cleats.

Yeah, that second position's been the hardest one to get looking right, actually, for some reason. I'll give it another shot. As for the cleats, this team in the game has a sort of hovering ability, hence their current gear. Still, you've got me thinking of a way to make them look more cleat-like now, so I'll give that a shot as well some time this week. Thanks.

I found an old CD backup with all of my rom hacking stuff on'em (from 2005) and I found the editor called "SKedit" the Solomon's Key editor v3.7b, right now this hack is coming along pretty good with no glitches or anything. So here's a sneak peek of my hack...

Right now I'm gonna hack level six tomorrow.
