Out of all of the editors for CV2 wht is the best? Also is it posible to have doors invisible. I might with an editor change the layout to silent hill a bit, and have invs doors, as in you walk onto another street by pressing up.


Googie try to hack pac mania for nes, thats the best one thats set in that game play for nes. It would be ineresting.

What I meant was that make sure not to have any blocking any passages. Otherwise, you might not be able to get past them without taking a hit.

workign on an elevator sprite, based off of MikeyK's released one. A couple of bugs left, both graphical:
  • The sprite doesn't yet check to see if mario is on it when animating itself which happen when you hold up or down on the D-pad.

  • The sprite checks to see if MARIO is hitting the ceiling, not if ITSELF is hitting the ceiling. This'll be a bit harder to correct...

That could open up some new level design ideas... possibly...
It just looks a little... small, for big Mario at least. It should at least be one more tile high... and not 3D. It clashes with the 2D to me...

Sukasa+: great to see someone (besides myself) making use of sprite tool. making the elevator stop when it hits the ceiling is an easy fix. you'll just have to change one value in the code that checks if mario is touching the ceiling. replace mario's object status ($77) with the sprite's contact status ($1588,x)

I styled it after KSS, which I based it on.

And a very basic version (this version's original setup) already comes with spriteTool but it's not animated and only has the lower two tiles.

And Big Mario fits too. The erason it's so small is because I'm conservative with tiles and really, do you think I woudl have been otherwise able to have 3 on-screen at the same time? (I can also be holding a key with no problems in this location.)

Anyways, I fixed the first glitch, and I would be very happy if you'd help with that second one MikeyK.

EDIT: the sprite's object status? But... that alone won't work, will it? The reason why is that I didn't modify and tables other than graphics, the sprite itself is still the sprite you gave in SpriteTool as far as SMW's Game Engine is concerned.

I've been picking up on my SmW hack today, so here's a sneak peek of what I'm doing so far...



I'm not gonna add any Gfx for this hack, it'll just be a remix with a touch of my insanity. xD
I'll prolly release a demo when I'm done with World 1.

You have to use an egg or Mys-Tik. You would throw it in a way so that it would knock open the flippers, then you would rush in. Am I correct?

@asdf: Yup. If you throw the Mys-Tik down, and quickly rush in front of the flippers, it will boomerang up, and come back to you, allowing you to enter. You will have to solve quite a few puzzles like that throughout the level. This is a pretty easy one to figure out, they will get harder *hands asdf cookies*

@Sukasa: The only thing below that slope is ground, and a monkey. So nothing to help you

What editor did that awsome castlevania2 remix hack use(the one that used dark palletes and way cooler gfx) that CV2 editor on zophare looked limited, couldn't edit everything, also the tiles to edit were seperated into HUGE blocks.

Can anyone tell me how to work Tume, it's a universal level editor. Anyone here have that? I forgot, but I think it's to do with rom's levels.

Is simon says the only editor for CV2? Is there a newer one, I got 0.2. Help me on this so I don't need tume. It says on Zophar it edits every level in the game, incluedin the casltes, yet I only get the town, and 2 trails.

I searched everywhere and never found anything to level-edit Castlevania 2. And since Simon Says doesn't let you change monsters or people to adjust them to the new level design, I never really messed with it.

Then what the hell was CV2 remix made with. Most likely knowledge of hex vaules of CV2, as the levels were all edited, not just 1 town and the 2 right trails.

Zophar, lied or messed up with ver #'s, it said it edits all levels, yet it don't, maybe they forgot to put the new ver up, someone should ask them, in the mean time i'll cheack romhacking and see if they have a new ver, Zophars alittle limited in tools compared to the list of romhacking.


EDIT: noop, same ver, dag, 0.2 and .20 are the same.

Man someone please make a revamp:simon's quest or something. I could only edit it if I had a lev editor like revamp.


BTW heres a shot of the new health thingy.

Here's a nice level for you all to OMG at. It's a bit tough to see, because it's daaaarrrrkkkk....





Note that the egg block in the first screen is the pink egg block. A very rare, and almost useless block in the original, it will now be required to beat this level. Can you bend the blocks to your liking within the time given? We'll find out, won't we?

I found out how to tweak the palletes in a way so I could add the DK Jr platforms, but then I can't have any square blocks in the game.

Are the DK Jr platforms worth not having blocks?
