I am actually quite interested in that SMW hack you have there, Dr. Mario.
If you need some help figuring out how ExGFX work for the FG, you could ask me since I have a firm understanding on how they work...
As for the next screen, I like the background and the ground as well. Nice.

DD: Mario's overworld wins. The way it is put together is just... great.

Dragonsbrethen: Interesting. I like how both of them look.

I want to say something to do with Greek mythos. Or maybe there was an explorer. I know if you ran backward from the start you got a some more time through a clock or sumthin.

Doing a major overhaul to the E tank system for my MM3 hack....
The W tank is being introduced the NES megaman games for the first time. I've been coding it for a week now and it's almost ready.

I'm afraid i'll never finish my hack with my slow progress. Still only about 50% done with it ....may take another 6 months...or a year+ ..not sure but i'm going to keep working on it.
I'd really like to find a good graphic artist person.

edit: 3/10/06: My item is now fully functional and finished. ..except it's causing 1 tiny graphical glitch without 2 specific weapons currently present not related to the item at all ...and i'm not understanding why ...but i can figure it out myself.
otherwise....it now works just like the gameboy mm4-5's w tanks.

Hey kuja killer. That W tank you are coding for MM3 is impressive. It inspired me yesterday to get back into ROM hacking. I decided to hack MM2 because there is a lot I can do with it.

So far what I have done is change a few bytes of ASM code, so that the game skips over the intro sequence. So after the Capcom intro text, it will jump right to the title screen. Also, I locked out the cursor so you can't move it, and changed the second option to "LOCKED". I want to add a special mode there once you beat the game or once you do something throughout the game.

Anyway thanks for inspiring me, and good luck with your hack!

I'm getting more knowledgeable with 6502 every day pretty much. Being able to do more things that haven't been done on Megaman 3 ever, hehe.
Expanded sprite palettes, palette animations, i know how to create multidirectional paths even though I haven't actually made one for my hack yet ...changed the title screen to include more content since it was all completely in use...now it has 1 extra thing on it. .....working on another specific out-of-stage screen in the game but Im drawing skills suck. ...the list goes on.

Dragonsbrethren, they look great! I might be hacking Castlevania for the first time soon.

Here's a couple more screenshots of my hack.

I am also working on making Bubble Man an intro stage, so when you press start, it takes you right to the stage. And then once you beat it, you are free to choose any of the other 7 bosses. Also, since I skipped the intro sequence, I might use that as a cutscene right before you start the intro stage!

Rockman, I don't want to influence you too much, but this one hack I played scraped having bosses on the stage select and made it so you select the actual stage instead. Pair that with disabling the introduction of the boss, and move the levels around on the screen, and you could make "suprise" bosses at the end of the levels.
