Ok, I just moved into this new house and when I went to the garage I found an NES box, inside the box was an NES, Zapper Gun, 2 controllers, and the necessary plugs and this little strategy guide, everything still had it's wrapper all the manuals are there adn stuff well the power cord didn't have the packaging over it. Anyhow i'm wondering how much money I might be able to get for this, any clues anyone?

I know that the NES console sells for 50 or 60 bucks on Gamestop. I know that they also take those consoles (with all working parts, not just the box) for 20 in cash.

Personally, if you REALLY wanted to sell it, do it via eBay. You'll probably get better money for it.

If its fully packaged, with everything, you could get more than 60$, but I advice you to keep it, if you don't have one yet.

Mine's still in my garage and still works as far as I know.

Then again, it's not like I could make much money off it... I know there was a pawn shop around here that bought NES units/games for $5/$1 each. No thank you.

Definitely go for ebay. You would not believe how much people will pay for an official Nintendo instead of one of those ugly piece of shit unofficial toploaders.

The toploaders were made by Nintendo. They were the second model of the NES.

That was when they positioned the NES as a budget system.

Ironically, they'd do something extremely similar with the SNES during its last days. Go figure.

So much for people actually reading my post. I have even less hope for people now. I said unofficial meaning the ugly ass toploaders they make now. Here's a link so maybe you can understand just what it is I am talking about.

Your previous post did not say "they make now"

Apparently you were actually referring to some cheap knock-off they make now which nobody has ever heard of and then you pointed out that people would rather buy an official nintendo than one of those

so when you said "one of those ugly piece of shit unofficial toploaders" it was natural to assume you were talking about the toploaders everyone knows about, not some random thing nobody knows about

basically, you need to l2p

I would suggest you tone down remarks like that around here.

And I've seen illegal NES units sold on SHOPPING CHANNELS around here... they vanished pretty quickly though.

Gah, this reminds me of a crooked video-game store where I bought a NES from. They sold me the dang thing for 50$, only when I got home, it didn't work. So when I took it back, they said they'd repair it for 20more dollars The crooks... needless to say, I never went there again. I ended up giving that NES to one of my friends. 50 bucks down the drain

On topic, I've also never heard of those illegal pirate NESes. How recent are they?

Wow that NES shown was awesome, but the controllers looked more like SNES than NES, anyway the NES you're talking of probly will go for $40 - $50.

Offtopic: I got my NES free when I was 5!

They've been around the past few years. I remember seeing them in mall gondolas. Actually, the ones I saw were even cheaper. They didn't take carts, they just had like 200 or 6000 or however many games hardwired in. The controllers also looked amazingly like shitty N64 controllers. And I think like 80% of the games were SMB clones.

Those places were the only good thing about working at Yankee Candle two years ago. Pop in there during lunch, play some Contra, go back to slingin' candles. Coincidentally, Contra was the ONLY good game on those. That's why you look for 'em at thrift stores; got mine for $3.

Usually those systems/"controller systems" only have 30-40 unique games on them, and they usually have very similar lineups to pirate carts.

You can always count on those to have games like Battle City, Mario Bros., SMB, Contra, Star Force and other small games like that loaded in.

I own one of those pirate systems...in the N64 controller. You know, with a little bit of elbow grease (just some rewiring and soldering), you can make it run Japanese Famicom games. From the cartridge! You know in certain NES games, they have converters, which take the Japanese game board and make it so it works in an NES cartridge slot? Gyromite is one I always used. Well it is really a makeshift Famicom cartridge connector my next goal with this "toy" is to figure out a way to add on support for an actual controller. If I can disable built in controlls and make my own circuit to an original controll port...a pseudo-portable Famicom, anyone? ^^;

Edit: Oh, and, Matt! If you don't own an NES, don't sell that!! Keep it there are so many great games for it that you can play. And the games are cheap, too! You just need to look in the right place.

Edit edit: Who streched the tables?

Yeah sorry about the table stretching, I just don't like how ebay has to use such long urls. But I think I read somewhere about smashing one of their games and doing that with the converter, might that have been your site?
