Hey what's up everyone? I just have a few questions and I'm sure some of this has been posted already but I couldn't find the answers after trying to look through the archives.

1. How do you disable the fade-out effect when you trigger the exit in a horizontal level? I've seen it done in PITMK and SMBDXTLL and wanted to know how to do that?

2. Speaking of exits, how do you change which palettes are used for the font used in COURSE CLEAR and the score that adds up below with the timer?

3. I've also seen in some hacks that people show the squashed goomba graphics when you step on the classic goomba. I've tried putting in the code for a classic goomba under sprite 12, which shows the goomba fine but disappears completely when you step on it. How can I repoint the graphics to show to an unused graphic such as the 5UP Tile?

4. Last but not least, is there a patch to get the poison mushroom into the hack? I have tried messing around with the sprite offsets and only got the behavior of the mushroom under sprite 36 but a very ugly glitch.

Please PM me, or post any links where I may find the answer. Thanks very much!

Alright, lets see:

1.For the no fadeout effect, open a hex editor and go to the offset x3135 and type the following:
4c 91 b0 ea d0
and at x3291 type:
ad c6 13 f0 fa a5 13 29 03 4c 39 af
thus ending the fadeout effect.

2. For this I believe pallette 1 has the color data for that and the status screen, but I'm not sure.
PM gettoyouth. I believe he knows.

4. http://www.freewebs.com/terencev1/racmar.ips . This also screws the flying fish generators and gives you Racoon Mario instead of Cape Mario.

I don't have the answer to 3, but I hope the rest helps.

For the third question: change the byte at E933 to 38 in a hex editor.

If I recall correctly, the 5up tile is used. You just have to get a boatload of silver coins.

Actually Kailieann, Silver Coins don't go past 3UP no matter what. 5UP only normally shows up in the game when you do the Wiggler bounce trick or at the goal tape in certain levels where there are a lot of enemies on the screen (that turn to coins when you cross the goal). Even so, the 5UP graphic is normally glitched. There was a way to fix it, but I forgot what it was.

Sorry bout the delayed response and bumping old threads but thanks a lot for all the info guys. I really appreciate it. I am currently working on a hack but don't really have a story/title for it. I will post screenshots soon. Have a great weekend!!
