If the ugliest dog ever was still alive, it would have a major rival.

EDIT: *re-reads article* Oh wait, the cat's dead too. Guess both can duke it out for eternity. *rimshot*

She said one thing's for certain: "I'm not going to put it on eBay."

How do you type the advertisement for a one-eyed, no-nosed dead cat with a straight face?

More relevently... that's really sad .. seriously. It had a rare disease.

People shouldn't masturbate so much... maybe god would stop killing kittens

I have changed the thread title to reflect the fact that it isn't alive.

That's awesome. I want one. Except it'd kinda be nice if it wasn't dead.

I think it would be an interesting cat to have.

Certainly scare people, and some religious fanatic would probably murder it, claiming it was an "abomination."

Oh, they wouldn't do that if they knew it was a legitimate birth defect, which wouldn't be difficult to explain. Wikipedia has a short article on it.

Reading the two links in this thread quickly dispels the thoughts of it being fake.

Birth defects suck. I even have one, though you couldn't tell since it's in my mouth and not terribly evident unless you're... Looking in there for some reason.

That's sad. At least the lady was decent to it, with the feeding thing.

Just goes to show how fragile life is

Well yeah. I thought that was pretty obvious, considering its lifespan was less than two days, and the disorder that causes this is one that often causes one's brain to not separate into left and right, which is quite a fatal affliction.

Maybe it looks fake but that thing is damn creepy. "AP regional photo editor Tom Stathis said he took extensive steps to confirm the one-eyed cat was not a hoax. "

Well, there you have it.

Wait, itīs named Cy. And who the fuck would sell a dead kitten on eBay? I mean, the cat would probably be quite valuable but itīs not normal to sell dead animals.

That's creepy. Sad and creepy. But at least it looks peaceful.

We were discussing the kitten at work today, and we found an entire site about feline medical curiosities. It's probably not safe for lunch.

Wow.

That is just weird.

It freaked out my friend a bit. Heh. "What...the...fuck...?" Yeah that is my initial thought when first seeing it.

Considering I hang around with a few cats, I'm not even going to LOOK at that. The descriptions I've read speak for themselves.

I'm sure a lot of us have birth defects that are totally... well... inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Like Kyouji's. But there's a difference between one tiny mistake and... well... Cy.

I have a mostly inconsequential birth defect. The bones in my palm that attach to my little fingers are at least 1 cm shorter than they should be. The little fingers are of normal length, but they only come up to the first knuckle of my ring fingers. The knuckles where they meet my hands are strange - dimpled instead of being a bump like the rest of them. This makes certain guitar chords a pain in the ass because my little fingers can't reach very far, but it sometimes comes in handy when playing a keyboard instrument. I can alternate my ring and little fingers in ways that wouldn't work very well for a normally proportioned little finger (because it would tend to bump into adjacent keys and whatnot).

Someday I want to get X-rays taken of my hands to see what those odd joints look like inside. This might be handy to researchers, too, because abnormalities of bone development may be related to other genetic goofups. And at the very least, it's a rare anomaly that someone might want to catalogue somewhere just for the hell of it.
