We got an e-mail from corp. office saying that the official date for KH2 is 3/30. Hopefully this won't change...again.

Barring major bug...things should be all ready at this point. Should just be beta testing for the developers...

I'm curious to how the new KH2 Theme song sounds...I wonder if the backward lyrics will still be in the song...

Meh, you're all wrong. Corporal Office is the only man keeping us safe from the terrifying reaches of Storm Cloud, a secret and eeeeeee-vull agency bent on dispersing a chemical responsable for many a person's death, dyhydrogen monoxide, into the atmosphere in the form of deadly pellets called "raindrops."

It will be a sad day when that man succumbs to his three tumors, HIV, severe Tonberry-induced wounds, and skin cancer. God bless his soul.

The song "Passion" should, by all accounts, sound incredible. The Japanese opening version sounds great, but I haven't heard the ending version (each describes part of the story, so the ending one would be different then the begining). The orchestrated version certainly doesn't dissapoint, but I still like the orchestrated "Simple and Clean" better. The new lyrics, I don't know if they'll describe the story in a simillar way, but it will most likely sound good all the same.

I just downloaded the soundtrack and it's amazing 'cept for one thing:

They didn't bother to loop the songs unlike the KH1 soundtrack!

Oh well... Currently listening to the credits music. It's beautiful.

MCP! MCP! Pikawil's avatar is MCP!

A KH2 influence, or are you just a fan of Tron in general?

Perhaps I've just not been paying close enough attention to the gaming community lately, but I would have expected that good or bad we'd have heard a lot of general impressions regarding the game since the Japanese release was several months ago, but I've heard relatively little. I am certainly very much looking forward to this game, though.

According to Wikipedia:
"The notoriously harsh magazine Famitsu has given the game a score of 39/40; close to perfect. It is notable because only five games have been given perfect '40/40' scores."

The only other info about KH2 was a skit on X-Play about the odd Japanese lyrics in a musical mini game set in the Little Mermaid's world. However I don't know what was so odd about the lyrics because an oversized StarTrek bumber covered up the sub-titles.

I've also heard relatively little information about Kingdom Hearts 2 from when it was released in Japan. I would have expected to hear a lot more reviews and seen a lot more screen dumps of the game.

Each time I've been at the newsagency, I've skimmed through the gaming magazines, not much said about the game in them though.

Of course, that may be partially intentional; the game companies certainly have some control over what the game magazines and the like say. Granted, it's received really positive reviews it seems, but maybe they want to start a clean slate of sorts in the American market? Seems odd, but there's probably some reason for it...

I never buy game guides. GameFAQs is my friend

Oooh, right, you work at Gamestop...so will you be able to get the game early then, or would that be against company policy and something that could get you fired?

I'll go to GameFAQs if need be, but for the RPG's, I like to get the guide for them. Mainly b/c I know how hard it is to find them after a few years. I have customers coming into the store, who are looking for FF8's guide and of course we don't have it and then I laugh a little inside.

Oh, if we get the game in early, its not street dated, so I can sell it and buy my copy of it as well.

Example: The game Black came in 4 days before it's launch date. Since it was street dated for the 28th, we cannot sell it or we could get fined. Not a good thing.

What really sucks, is that I have a store-wide inventory on the 2nd of April, so that's going to take away from play as much KH2 as possible.

Oh! We got in a standee for KH2 and there's going to be a fight with myself and the employees....we all want it!!

I'm actually thinking of getting the first Kingdom Hearts guide book, purely because it is RPG. It's around $20.00 but I've only seen it in one or two game shops, I suppose I could get it ordered in.

Anya, do you get a discount of some sort because you work at a gaming shop?

Heh, I have the FF8 guide, got it for $1. It's one of the biggest strategy guides I've seen. I should clarify what I mean when I say I don't get the guides. I don't buy the guides when they're new, or ever from Gamestop. See, there's a local chain in the Cleveland area called CD/Game Exchange, which tends to have much better prices on used games than the bigger chains, though the selection varies a lot by location. A good example is my copy of Dark Cloud 2, bought a month after it was released, for $15...though mostly the newer games won't go down that much for a LONG time, and even then a lot of games won't go down to the $5-10 level where I like to buy my games.

Anyway, back to the main point at hand, the chain also has strategy guides for $1-2.50...and for that price, they're worth it.

Damn, I'm going to miss that chain when I'm working in the DC area starting this fall. I guess I'll have to go to it when I go home to visit. I've been going there for over ten years, when the best system I had was an 8-bit NES and the games were (still are, actually) mostly $2.50.

Haven't seen the latest EGM then? Collect all four covers! (Or don't) =P

And as for the Kingdom Hearts guide, that's actually one of the things that tipped me towards getting the game. I saw the comercial for KH (still think it's kick-ass, BTW), and remember thinking 'Hey! Cool theme song... That looked like Cloud! And Donald and Goofy fighting... Cerberus? TARZAN!?! WTF!!!'. Now, this was before I was aware of any game like this, so I just dismissed this all as my imagination acting up on me. Then at the evil tyranical empire, heil Walmart, I saw the guide for the game. And WTF!?! It is Cloud and... Mickey!?!

Has anyone else seen the voice cast for the new characters though? Disney sure did pull a lot of strings this time around (still no Pirates of the Carribean actors, though. Schedueling problems apparently). And in effect, probably ended up pulling the strings for many of Advent Children's voice-overs in the process as well. =/

Interesting way to end this reply: Vivi and Tifa in KH2! Holla up!
