Nintendo decided to pull out a little surprise announcement today...  I saw something about Tetris for the DS posted on Nintendo's E3 site last year but then it suddenly vanished... but all of a sudden we have a new game coming out in just two months without any advance warning. 
Anyways, Tetris DS is being made by Nintendo and... of course... it'll use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Yes, that means ONLINE TETRIS with 2-4 players, complete with stat tracking and a rating system to let you know how you match up to others. Plus there's going to be six different game modes as well, *and* - as the icing on the cake - each of the modes have a classic Nintendo theme to them. One for SMB, one for Zelda, etc. Looks like three of the modes are Classic, Puzzle and Online. This was a very pleasant surprise to come home and see.

| My guess is that Boo makes you unable to see what blocks are coming next, which WOULD actually be a good attack.
I think if they don't mess this up (Tetris Worlds by THQ -> BAD idea) it'll be fine. As long as online mode works as it should then it'll be worth the $30. |

I don't know when it is.  I mean, it's almost definite it will but it's coming to North America in March and to Europe in May.
By the way, some sites have it down as being by THQ but that's not true. Nintendo themselves said it was being done in-house by one of their development teams. Dunno which one. |

America, Europe, whatever. Wherever it comes out first I'll just grab it up  I'm a puzzler freak...Tetris and I were best friends back in middleschool (I still play Tetris + Dr. Mario to this day) ._.;; this is a godsend to someone like me. |

Hrm, it looks like Mario Mode is kind of like an action-puzzle game? Maybe, and this is just speculation, the game features a separate algorithm for levels where a set block type will come down, and your movements of that block correspond with Mario's actions? The simple A/B style of the block turning and the old school Mario games would depict a similar possible action. Imagine pulling an X1/X2 and playing both games at the same time... 
Nah, that's nigh-impossible. Would make for an interesting game, though. |

| Well, I'm glad it's not simply traditional Tetris, since I can't stand playing that game for more than 5 minutes. It's so incredibly boring.

If it doesn´t work, you must add your DS's MAC Address to the router and the routers IP to you DS and some more things. My Wi-Fi connection works. |

| Meh, yet another reason I need to get a router. I figured out how to bridge the wireless from the laptop with the help of ad-hoc mode, but I rather use the desktop for internet...
Meh, at least it's going to add some depth in a game that I get easily bored on for some reason. :/ I tend to prefer the other puzzle games over Tetris. |
