That requires you to run the program on a connected computer... this is probably what he wants more, a full installable IE: http://browsers.evolt.org/download.php?/ie/32bit/6.0/ie60.exe

BTW, IE6 comes with Windows XP and 2003. So if you have either OS version, it's already there.

And you need IE to do this? I'm willing to bet there's an open-source program that can do it without, whatever 'it' is exactly.

Well, I'm willing to bet you can use an entirely-free software operating system to just play music and load/write/etc documents.kk

Well sure, but I doubt he wants to go to that much trouble. Installing non-Microsoft media players and word processors is one thing, a new OS is quite a bit different.

Well of course, non-Microsoft OSes don't typically crash or have many bugs in the installation.

Well why don't we wait and see if he has any interest in switching OSes/software before we start arguing about which he should switch to?

That's what I say, There's no use changing OSes and such if you dont have to, I know of a couple programs that need IE 6 and also know how to get around it, lol

It's a shame that you can't remove IE from explorer and get it to run lololol instead. Didn't actually know that Acrobat Reader required internet explorer though .

I recall seeing a way to remove ie out of your system. It was a painfully method not worth when some apps require ie.

As for pdfs, if they don't use forms, you can always use foxit pdf reader. It rocks and it is damn fucking fast
