The palace never looked so pleasant. On this desolate wasteland consumed by the dark powers of the Windonian Empire, the only presence of hope lied within the corridors of Graven Palace.

Troops were swarming in though, being pushed back by the automatic defence systems present on the pillars of the palace entrance and flamethrowers from the steps. The Windonian Empire needed reinforcements, but Barnaos was already too far away for help. He came for one thing and left anyone that did not complete their duties in time. The planet was almost conquered, but the one place left, the Graven Palace, was still intact. Inside contained an artifact that, once placed, would purge all darkness within the planet. This meant that only heroes, not villains, could survive. They knew their duties, and would rather die than follow the light.

William quickly bursted out of one of the doors within the palace to begin escaping the palace. He had to hurry, as the Windonian Empire knew he fled inside and was preparing to kill them all. He had no time to play around.

He sprinted through the corridors of white and gold trimming and blue tiles and slid down the railing of the stairs to reach the front doors. He pushed them open, took a glance outside, and slammed them shut. William would be crazy to rush into a full platoon of soldiers with guns flailing and rockets bursting nearby. He didn't think that they could have made it this far so fast. They must have made some new technological advances, like they always do.

He then saw a window in the far end of the room, opposite of the front doors. He began running through the populated room full of scared wives and children. They did not know why these fiends would attack a peaceful planet, but it was certain that they were about to win. They were going to die.

The men fended upstairs, blasting away with machine guns and laser beams, hoping that the unlimited onslaught would soon end. Lutherna, princess of Graven, barked orders to her men to make sure that they were kept in shape. Her mother and father lay in bed, struck with a dreaded disease that only darkness could bring. Once the darkness was gone, they would return to their reign of peace and mariment.

Why, though, did she ask William to take the Talisman of Light to the Sacred Temple instead of herself? Was it that he was strong? Brave? Smart?

Maybe it was just that I was the only one who knows who these guys are, thought William, as he jumped through the windows of the palace and landed softly into the safety of the Graven Garden. Hedge walls formed a square from above, and the precious plants emitted a bright light, even amidst the circle of purple clouds that did not block the light to the palace. He glanced around, holding the talisman in his hand. He did not know what the significance was to this, but he knew what he had to do.

He headed towards the center of the garden, noticing the nice brick path of light blue and outline of white bricks. The middle had nothing but a circle of grass, the light stronger than usual. He looked past that to notice three Windonian Soldiers burst out of the hedges and run towards William, weilding two laser maces in their hands, swinging them around frantically. William took a step back and was about to retreat when the soldiers ran into the light, swinging down at him. They couldn't touch him before they were vaporized. Their weapons fell to the ground, but instead of laser maces, they were classic maces used during medieval times.
"The light removes darkness," William concluded. "This better work!"

He stuck the talisman in the light and stood back. He watched as the talisman hovered into the air and shot a beam of light north, clearing up all the clouds within that beam along with the evil that trailed the ground. The brighter light than faded and the talisman fell into William's hand. He found the way to the Sacred Palace.

"If another path like that appears, then kill me. Just kill me."

He turned around, thinking that he won't have to wait until then. He put the talisman away, knowing of its financial value and that the Windonian Empire would easily duplicate it and convert it to dark energy. He grabbed hold of the handle of his beloved Black Thorn sword, holstered to his back, as his other hand grasped one of his boomerang guns.

"I thought that this was the new Sim-Battle Arena Building. This is what I get for assuming all the time."

"Testing... Testing... one two! One two!" yelled a somewhat neutral-sounding voice.

Slowly, the powers of Darkness gathered...

"Yes! Yes! It's working! Ex Lightheart! Your body is being built! Get ready to be phased in!" continued the voice...

In front of William, the shadows begun to unite, all forming a black puddle of digusting ooze... and slowly, the ooze begun to rise, progressively molded into a humanoid shape by some unknow force...

"Done! The body is ready! Here you go!" announced triumphantly the voice...

ZAAAAAP!!!

A gigantic rift of some sort opened in the sky and a HUGE bolt of pure dark energy struck the puddle of Darkness! The black ooze begun to glow... glow... the light became blinding... and...

FLASH!!!

The light faded... and where the puddle of black ooze once stood, a female creature stood there.

Some kind of humanoid yellow mouse with long rabbit-like ears was standing there, panting heavily... and she was completely naked. This wouldn't be a problem usually... if the mouse wan't so human-like... and according to human standarts, she was drop-dead beautiful, her proportions and curves being unnaturally perfect...

Her deep, ocean blue eyes seemed to glow in the darkness of her aura... and then, she closed her eyes and begun to chant strange words...

FLASH!

Another bright flash of light and then, when the light was gone, the creature's body was now hidden under clothes.

She was wearing clean blue jeans, a white sweater with a blue jeans coat over it as well as a ribbon of some sort around the neck. The ribbon was held in place by a strange talisman on her neck... a talisman which looked like a closed eye... and the talisman seemed so organic... so real... that it could have fooled anyone in thinking that it was an actual eye. On top of her head, atop her beautiful blonde, almost golden hair, there was a pair of blue pilot googles which were seemingly there only for looks.

She was wearing strange shoes and gloves... The gloves were all mechanical as well as the shoes, almost as if she had mechanical hands and feet... and the technology used... it seemed incredibly advanced... most probably beyond anything William has ever seen and that, even if he came from a futuristic place...

Truly, she seemed out of this world... and this dark aura... it was so powerful that even those not sensitive to Darkness can see that the light around her is weaker...

Ex Lightheart, a humanoid Pichu that was, in truth, the only surviving ZX-106 "Ex" being prototype and a famous hero in another Possibility, stood there, smiling.

She stood there, smiling... and after a few seconds, she finally noticed William.

"Oops!" she recoiled a bit in surprise. Her voice was very feminine and seductive... perfectly fitting for a beautiful creature such as her... truly... she was beautiful in every way... too beautiful. She felt... unnatural. "I had not noticed you, sorry."

Ex stood there for a while... and then raised an eyebrow. "You did not... see me arrive, don't you?" she asked.

The female was worried... worried that she might have phased in while someone was there. Zerodius had seen that reports stated that no one went near here usually! She knew that she could not warp her soul and clothes inside of a new world at the same time... and since she didn't really enjoyed having people look at her... "features"... she preffered to phase in when no one was around.

But more importantly... there was the fact that she was entirely made of negative energy, of Darkness... and she didn't really wanted people to see her appear and think that she is some kind of demon... Actually... she IS some kind of demon since she is pure Darkness but... that is not a fitting title. She's not a member of that specie and react differently to the Polar Elements of Light and Darkness!... and anyway, demons are usually seen as Evil... and she will probably be Evil the day pigs will fly!... or something like that... whatever the saying is.

"See what? I saw some light, covered my eyes for a few seconds, felt another wave of light, and then you appear there."

William could feel the dark energy inside of her, but he somehow had this feeling that she was nowhere near evil. He wasn't going to risk it, though. If Ex Lightheart was truly good, she would prove it. Right now, to William, she kind of freaked him out. He has seen some weird humanoid combinations, but this was the first of seeing one of a Pokemon, a Pichu, for that matter.

He ripped the sword up and began swishing it around in front of him with both hands. He then stopped it immediatly in front of him, the blade tip pointing towards his foe... or friend... whoever or whatever she was.

He did not fight on this planet yet, which was strange, as bullets richochet off the other side of the palace and bombs keep blowing up. He was surprised himself. This wasn't a planet made for war, yet they had so many defences up, it was suspicious...

"Pardon me, but I am in a bit of a hurry. I have this temple thing to go to and... ummm... save the world. Yeah... very original..."

He took a step back, still pointing the blade towards the feminine creature. He wasn't taking any risks... which was already stated. Bleh.

"Why are you here? What do you want here?"

He probably figured that she wanted the talisman, but he wasn't going to say that, as that might spark some... ideas in her mind.

He could have been raptured in her beauty, but William was always the one to never show it. He just said what was on his mind...

Ex stood there, rolling her eyes and sighing loudly. Great... just great... he must be thinking that she's some kind of monster now...

"Look... I'm simply here to gather information. My boss has heard about some kind of talisman which has the power to nullify Darkness and he thinks that the powers of this talisman could be duplicated in order to further Project "Ex"... in short, to make talismans which could nullify the Polar Energies, Light and Darkness. I heard that some kind of guy around here knows about this talisman or even has it... and I'm here to reclaim it, if possible." she explained.

She forced a smile on her face, altought she knew this probably made no sense to this guy...

"As for you saving the world... well... my boss could help you with that. If you could tell me where that talisman and it's owner is, I'll contact the boss and we'll strike a deal. Just state whatever problem you are facing and poof! My boss will give you tools that will take care of your problem. A disbalance in Light or Darkness? We can fix that. Evil armies? We can fix that. Sun near your planet going supernova or a killer meteor heading your way? We can fix that. Really, it's simple. You help us, we help you. Not a bad deal, huh?"

Ex knew that she would probably sound suspicious... but then, she tought that she had put off quite a good performance... and she relaxed, safe in the belief that now, that guy would have a higher idea of her... and since he's a guy... then why not add one more motivation to accept her offer?

She smiled, this time in a sincere way, and then winked at William. "Who knows? Maybe our respective people could even get along? Really, where is the talisman's owner... may you tell me? Please?"

William was in a predicament: he could either run to the temple, use the talisman, free the planet, and then give it back, or give it to her now, in hopes of gaining reinforcements and driving off the Windonian Empire.

He always liked these kind of situations for some weird reason... probably for the negotiations part. Sure, he would have simply stated that he had the talisman and would just need it temporarily, but he still wanted a fight, even though there was another battle going around him.

A grin lighted up his face as he deviously thought of this crazy idea. So with this little plan, he decided to play around for a bit, hoping to prove her worthy to him, whatever that means to him.

"I do know who has the talisman." He swung his sword forward, slashing down to the ground where it slashed the beautiful patterns in the garden pathway. "However, I have a proposition to make with you. Fight me, and I will help you. Refuse, and I'll leave right now and never reveal to you the talisman. I am just in a mood to fight..."

Ex crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. NOW we're talking about a weirdo...

"Okay... you're quite the original one, aren't you?" she stated, not knowing if she should be amused, annoyed, or scared.

She sighed and then grasped her talisman and took it off the ribbon... and then, the talisman's eye opened itself! It was not a fake eye... IT REALLY WAS AN EYE!

"I will warn you however... I am the strongest warrior where I come from and altought I will go easy on you... know that even when fighting fair, there are vast chances that my fighting capabilities will FAR exceed yours. Are you sure you wanna fight me? You could get hurt, you know..." Ex grinned, confident, as she finished her sentance.

Dark Weapon slowly awakened. She wondered... how experienced was this warrior? She doubted they knew of Paradox Physics, of Dimensional Distortions, of Supra-Elemental Attacks, of Phase Mana or Energy/Matter dynamic conversions... but she won't know until she has tested, isn't it?

But even if he isn't nearly at her level... the thing is that it was a while since she praticed her swordplay and she would be quite upset if she learnt that she had let herself get rusty... as such, this battle didn't seemed like such a bad idea...

... but first... let's see if that guy was intimidated by her warning...

"Hmmm... a challenge, eh? Well then, that settles it." William, with sword in hand, began spinning on his feet, his sword slashing through the air around him. Dust clouds were sprung from the ground and spiraled around William, covering him from all angles. He could not be seen through all the dirt in the air around him.

A few seconds later a gun shot was heard from the dust and a boomerang shot out towards Ex. The dust parted at this time revealing William with his boomerang gun aimed at her. He had a grin on his face. He knew that his foe would easily avoid this attack, but that was the whole reason for doing so.

Ex stared at William. For those who can see Soul Energy, illusions of the physical world are nothing.

As such, Ex was in position when the gun shot was coming toward her... and time seemed to slow down as, surprisingly enough, she was able to to move quickly enough to intercept the incoming shot with Dark Weapon's blade!

The bullet struck the blade... and the blade suffered no damage while the bullet was crushed on impact, as if it had hit a barrier of bullet-proof metal or something...

Ex slowly spun Dark Weapon around as it's blade finished appearing. Dark Weapon no longer was a small talisman... it was now a GIGANTIC sword made of flesh with tons of eyes and teeth all over it's blade! The triangular blade was so long and large... it must be at least twice Ex's height! Truly, it is amazing that she can carry such a big weapon around...

Ex placed the sword's blade on her side, ready for the next attack...

"To the one who can see souls... illusions of the physical world are laughable." she stated as her pupils slowly turned white... showing that she had either became blind out of a sudden or had always been actually blind for some reason...

Ex grinned fearlessly, awaiting her opponent's next action. Physical combat was her forte. As long as this opponent would rely on attacks that she can deflect with Dark Weapon, this will be an easy win... although that last attack makes her suspect that this foe may not be as weak as it may have seemed at first...

(OOC: Sorry for the delay. I have been having personal problems within the last few weeks and... well, kind of forgot about the battle...
Anyway, I can't really do the whole Wack-a-Clone game, so you can forget about it if you would like and go with the next person. I can't get into it that much...)
---------------------------

William was kind of glad to have a foe that was good in the physical attack zone. He needed the increased challenge for practice.

The guns still were blazing in the background from the soldiers shooting at the residents of this planet. He could hear the screams of pain and death in the nearby areas, but he could do nothing but succeed in his mission. A battle would slow him down, of course, but running now after attacking would be stupid and... suspicious.

He decided to attack with his sword this time, knowing very well that he will probably be hurt this time, but he didn't care. He just wanted to fight.

Grasping his sword with both hands, he dashed towards Ex with his sword forward. When positioned closer to Ex, he took the sword and swung it up, hoping for an upward slash on his opponent.

Odds were that his sword would be deflected easily, but he was up to such a maneuver.

Ex stood silent and immobile as William came closer... and as her foe came in close and attempted an easy to block attack, Ex became suspicious... and decided to counter it in another way.

Unstead of just letting the blade strikes Dark Weapon, Ex ducked, gathering her strenght... and then, as the blade was about to strike her, Ex jumped!

The jump was absolutely incredible! She seemingly flew high above the blade and then... oh! It looks like Ex is coming down fast and is about to land on William's head, stomping him with both feet!

"Mario style!" thought Ex to herself, smiling as she came down...

William slashed nothing but the air, noticing now that Ex was above him about to crash on top of him.

Reacting as soon as he could, William sprung backwards to avoid the oncoming foot of doom. However, he lost grip of the sword and it fell to the ground... behind Ex.

"Crap. My sword!"

William looked at the situation again. He decided to doodle some ideas down.

He reached behind him and pulled out a sketch book. Out of nowhere, he seemed to grasp a pencil, in which he began to draw things in the book. He was too busy with drawing to notice anything that Ex was planning to do.

Whether this was something more than a time waster or more of an attack was anyone's guess at this point, but William knew what he was doing... or at least that is what he hoped...

Ex crashed straight into the ground, causing a small but non-damaging earthquake as she stomped into the ground with both feet.

Having not heard the sound of crushed flesh, Ex assumed that her foe avoided the attack... and the cry of frustration of her foe as he lost her sword confirmed her suspicions.

Ex's shoes glowed blue and flames came out as she fired the Retro Rocket systems, sending herself backward at a high speed, away from any potential counter-attack... and then, as she stopped, Ex noticed how her foe had taken out a notebook and a pencil...

Was it the dreaded Sketch attack? Or maybe was it a Magic Seal? It was common knowledge that Magic Seals was a stronger form of magic than incantations and that as such, an enemy that start to draw arcane symbols in the air or in a book is NEVER a good sign.

While she knew how to mimic Zerodius's famous Feedback tech... she knew that Feedback was only effective on the lower forms of magic, the incantations, and on the highest forms of magic, streamed magic. Magic Seals couldn't be countered using Feedback since the charged energy was gathered outside of the caster, in a sort of gate. Trying to destroy those gates is an exercice in futility ; the correct counter here is to close the magic gate by using a stronger and more complicated Magic Seal.

However... was it truly a Magic Seal?... or was it a Sketch?

She wasn't sure what it was... and she sure doesn't want to find out!

Ex's eyes slowly turned blood-red as immense amounts of Dark Power were gathered inside of her and as Dark Weapon drained her consciousness of any thoughts unrelated to the battle. The time had come to unleash the wrath of the Dark Overdrive...

Just one little mark here and...

With the final stroke, William glanced up and noticed Ex lost in thought.

"Uh... ok..."

With the book in hand, William drew what seemed to be a circle and then slammed the book onto the ground. A light emitted from the newly drawn shape, and a huge beam shot out of the book. The light and beam faded, revealing a bigger version of a sketch. The sketch was of a weird set of armor, with jets on the back and rocket packs on the shoulders. There were also flamethrowers on the wrists.

The weird thing was that it was all grey and not solid, since after all, it was a sketch that he drew in a snap.

He crouched underneath it and put on the extra firepower. It was just his size. The book underneath him vaporized and the sketched top solidified, revealing a full 3D orange jetpack-rocket-flamethrower top. William grinned.

"I think... maybe you overthought this?"

Ex stared at the nice set of high-tech armor William had just created...

"Interesting... so you wield the power to bring into existence drawings and sketches. Very interesting power... lots of possibilities with this power, as well. Still... I believe it is time for you to stand still." Ex said, staring into his eyes...

Slowly, the humanoid Pichu rose Dark Weapon and suddenly, her eyes became empty as the weapon plunged her into some kind of trance... and then, Ex slashed the air in front of her suddenly and quickly, attempting to stop time!

He began to think about what to do. He could fire some missles back in time to prevent Ex from stopping time, but then he would enter a loop to which he would have never used the missles, which means that she could still stop time, which meant he would need to fire the missles...

It would cause a time loop. He didn't want that to happen.

So what else to do than press the trigger on the right hand of the suit, which would launch missles at Ex and hopefully stop her from stopping time but if they missed he would be frozen?

He pressed the trigger. Missles shot out and barreled towards the foe with incredible speed. He was never frozen in time, but he didn't want to figure out how it felt.
If he failed though...

OFF: I am baaaaaaaack!!!

Anyway...

I AM CASTING LIFE2 ON THIS THREAD!

*BAM!*

Good, thread revived! Now, let's resume... if you want, that is!

____________________________________________________________________

Since Ex was at a relatively close range, the missiles closed in...

"Faster!" a thought rushed through her mind...

The missiles are closing in... the missiles are slowing down... she can feel the stress of Time's pressure on her...

"FASTER!" not even a second had passed and yet, because of the Tech's nature, the missiles were slipping in, closing in and threatening to blast her!

Ex's eyes widened and her Dark Weapon had to suck in almost all of her soul out of her body in a temporary way to prevent her from panicking as the missiles were now just mere inches from her face...

Ex closed her eyes as the missiles reached her. They had slowed down to a crawl and had not stopped...

click.

She heard the sound of the impact... the trigger within the explosive head as it collided with her skin... she felt the cold metal...

... and she awaited the explosion.

...

...

...

... nothing.

Dark Weapon let go of Ex's soul and the humanoid Pokemon, fully aware, stared at the missiles, which were now frozen in time in front of her.

Ex smiled. That was too close... but she was still unharmed. "No time to celebrate. You won't hold the time stop for long... and with the missiles separating you from your target, you won't be able to complete your Dark Overdrive..." explained the Claim Solais, Ex's Dark Weapon.

Ex was not angry. It had been a while since she fought with a worthy opponent... and as such, she was actually enjoying this challenge. "Fine... but I can, at least, get out of the way of those things." said Ex, walking through the still air.

Walking when time is frozen is something very hard... and soon, Ex felt as if her feet had turned into lead as she stepped away. She tried to get away... as far away as possible from the missiles... but soon enough, she found herself slowing down...

"Just... a few... more... meters!" she thought to herself, sweating from the increasing physical effort.

FLASH!

BOOM!

Ex lost her concentration when she tried too hard to move further... and the missile exploded, causing a chain reaction! Ex was unfortunately just at the edge of the blast radius and although the explosion did not touch her, she was close enough for the winds caused by the impact to smack her and send her flying straight into the nearest wall.

BAM!

Ex felt dizzy and well, not very well as she slowly removed her frame from the wall... she shook her head, regaining her spirits... "YIKES! That was not nice..." she muttered to herself.

She wondered how the foe will react, seeing her being struck by the missile one second and being sent flying by the explosion the next. But well... it was not her greatest concern right now.

((OOC: Alright! Let's get it going back to speed!))

William saw the missles make contact and then... saw Ex next to a wall in an instant. He was kind of confused, but then realized that time must have stopped and she was still hit by the projectiles.

The suit of armor dissolved into the air, leaving William with his usual weaponry. Seeing this as a perfect opporotunity, he held his sword in front of him, the tip pointing up. He began to charge up energy for his next move before his opponent gained a chance to strike.

Ex shook her head again and finally got over her dizziness. She smiled as the Claim Solais took the form of a bracelet around her right hand. She cracked her knuckles loudly and the Dark Weapon took the form of a ridiculously oversized sword again.

Ex turned to her opponent, smiling. "Heh... You are skilled! I will give you that." she said in a mocking tone... before noticing that he was charging up for an attack.

... and unfortunately, she had no time to prepare and launch a Feedback Tech!

Ex looked around frantically, seeking an escape route for when the attack would be going her way... and then, a crazy idea popped inside of her mind. Claim Solais was not sure... but Ex, her, decided that she would do that.

Ex curled up in a ball and begun to spin at an insane speed while remaining at her location, preparing a Spin Dash for when the attack would be going her way.

Mentally, she thanked a certain twin-tailed fox in Dimension 9 for teaching her such an useful technique...
