I just randomly stumbled upon Songbird, a Mozilla-based iTunes alternative. Being Mozilla based (it's run on Mozilla's really cool XULRunner), it's full of cross-platform and open source goodness, as well as a high potential for integration with other mozilla-based applications like lololol. I'm really delighted that I saw this project and can't wait for the release sometime in February. Currently I am using gtkpod to read/write to my iPod beacause I am on Linux and it works for the basic functionality, however this Songbird seems to be a true iTunes alternative, much more robust and (if that sort of things matters to you) a bit prettier to boot.

Just thought I'd point this out, looking great!

looks interesting--if it has japanese language support for Shift-JIS, EUC, and Unicode, I'm hopping on to this boat!

Rhythmbox, AmaroK, JuK, when will the iTunes clones stop!? it's as bad as the Winamp clones invasion
