Howdy,
My name is emPulse, I am new to SMW hacking/modding. I have worked with games (Q3 engine) mapping for Enemy Territory, but this is way different. I am having trouble even beginning. I have more Mario ROMS then Bush has reasons to invade Iraq, but Lunar Magic gives me the:

Rom does not have 0x200 header.

I looked at the FAQ and it says use a hex editor to add 512bytes to the begging of the rom file, but I have no experience in doing this, I am sure I am capable, but could use some guidance in doing so. Yes my ROM is V1.0 US (also have JAP)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there's your problem. You don't have any ROMs.

Seriously, though, you should get SNESTOOL. It can add and remove headers. And you'll need a headered rom to use Lunar Magic. If all else fails, look elsewhere for an already headered rom.

Open a hex editor
Look for an Insert command (probably under the Edit menu)
Insert x200 bytes (512 if you prefer decimal)
