I have a sore throat (again). I don't know, but I think it's my damned tonsilitis coming back.

I don't want to go to the doctor and get put on antibiotics again. I've only just come off the antibiotics and they make me feel even crappier. Is there anything that might help me feel better?

I've tried:
  • alcohol


Any further suggestions would be appreciated

I would suggest some ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, etc), and eating ice while you wait for them to kick in.

Tried drinking Sour milk or Yoghurt? Dosen't cure or anything, but it soothes. Been a lifesave for me sometimes, until I get stronger stuff at the pharmacy.

There are lots of causes for sore throat. It may not solely be viral.

I personally find that waiting it out usually does the trick.

Soda? I hear the sugary-ness of the soda can make things worse Maybe carbonated soda water..

Orange juice does the key. Citrusy juices..theres something in them, it has always helped me feel much better Give it a try, it's worth a shot, right ._.;;

Seriously. The sperm kills off the bacteries and forms a protective layer over your throat.

I can back this up with a German newspaper outtake if anyone requests.

Is it in German? If it's in English, I'd kinda like to read about it. It sounds sciency and geeky in a weird way, and I like that

If that's true, then swallowing the white in the egg might be good for the throat for the same reasons.

I just take pills against sore throats but I believe you´ve tried that already.

I drank milk when I had a really bad sore throat a while ago. It´s pretty soothing.

Um, have your tonsils removed? Mine were removed when I was like 6.

Alternatively, get a piece of fat from a ham or a steak, clean it real good, soak it in honey, tie a string around it, swallow it, then pull it back up your throat.

Hmm... My grandmother used to recomend a combonation of lemon juice and honey, I've never tried it but it should be worth a shot. By the way, if it works please tell me.
