I have a problem with Advance-Text. I know how to change names and things and how to find everything I want, the only problem is changing Pokedex data. I know about having the same amount of characters as what was previously in the previous text. I try and try to change the Pokedex data. I typed it all into the program saved it and all, and when I get to the game, the first line of each page of Pokedex data is correct but the next 2 lines on that page are all screwed up, in places that it shouldn't be. Any single names such as a Pokemon's name change fine. It seems as if the problem is when I have multi-lined text to change it doesn't change correctly. Just after I press enter for the next line to star is where it messes up. I don't know exactly what I'm doing wrong but I'm sure it's when I push enter. Anyone know the problem?

Wow. I can't believe this. I was sitting here trying for about an hour and it was that easy. I am happy it's working but I feel stupid now. By the way, thanks for the help.

For pokemon taco, Lunar IPS Patch Maker Thingy Says, "Your modified file has changes at or beyond the 16 mb mark. The IPS is unable to adress those offsets. The generated patch file will only contain changes below that point." What do I do? Because I cant post roms...

You can't do anything; the max size IPS can work with is 16 MB.

You can always use alternative patching systems, as long as the end result is not a ROM.

PPF would be a good alternative. I think that format has a limit too, though.

I'd bet he used pokepic to insert HUGE images. Pokepic does that kind of stuff.

[if it's that,] You can insert the pictures in the empty space and repoint them, or make your pictures fit in the original ones' space.

Pokepic....Has been replaced by Unlz.

But anycase you might want to redo the images... No one wants to download a 16mb crappy romhack...

I think you use RS Ball to dump all the pictures (monsters/trainers).

When I try using the cash offset provided in a topic by kawa in another topic (02025BC4), I get an overflow error, here is my code.
'-----------------------
#org 0x14D6D6
msgbox 0x816AC56 '"Hello"
boxset 0x2
setvar 0x02025BC4 5000
end
#org 0x816AC56
= Hello.
I am using Pokemon Ruby, and I elitemap says its (E) (sorry, I couldn't find a single (U) anywhere) But I think it should work nontheless. Somebody, please help .

(I have the feeling I am doing it wrong, I have been struggling and searching for about a day).

Look for a pointer in through a hex editor that refers to Bulbasaur, and see if it's right next to a pointer that leads to Squirtle (and after that Charmander, or whatever order they're in). If the pointers are right next to each other that's probably the location of the starters; change the pointers and there ya go, new starters. Elementary.

I removed what might be causing it :/
Why do you have a setvar anyway?

[Small debuging tips]
Remove comments from the code
Don't use anything that you don't understand.
If all else fails, use hex to make the script. Got it?

Edit: I like editing :| >.> <.< 7-10 edits is not much ...

Are you wipeing(sp) Anything important out of the text you edit? Like somthing that looks useless at the start of the text?
That should be it.

Usually I just erase the whole thing and re-write it (I don't have to re-point it though)
