Wow. Of all the things I thought of doing to fix that error, from an extra slash in the pathname to pulling out a hammer on the computer, I DIDN'T think of adding a filename. WOW.

[note: Both the hammer and the computer are safe. I wouldn't do that to a computer with glasses.... >.>;]

Thank you, Kawa.

EDIT: ... I just realized... Something in Sappy is causing it to not save the voice groups! Which means, that if every thing else was imported successfully, then your music will be moot! Blank! I ported Sonic Advance 3's intro music to Pokemon Emerald.

The utterly hilarious result?

The sound of silence!! XD

Was there a Voicegroup setting in the Importer? I should check.

Regardless, you can see where the header's at. Change it by hand until it's done for you.

There is a voicegroup setting there....although I have to admit, the option to save a voicegroup pointer would be nice. But then, Copy + Paste works perfectly fine so far.

Its one thing to ask a question, it is another thing to SPAM. What you are doing is SPAM, so please stop it. This is all I see from you in this forum. If it happens again, we're going to have a problem. Please don't make me talk to you anymore ._.;;

Actually, Kawa, I meant that Sappy doesn't save the data for the voicegroups. It put the pointer for them in the header just fine. Where I saved my data to (E00000), there's no data in the rom, so Sappy literally plays none of that song perfectly. Or at all. >>;

EDIT: Hmm. I think I know just what I did wrong now... But before I fill people's heads with the wrong ideas, let me clear my thr-- I mean, let me test my theory first.

EDIT2: Hey! Looks like I was WRONG! Now I need to figure out how in the hell I'm going to put the actual music into the rom, because ported music isn't really much without any true music to it, ay?

Question. A sentence that ends with a question mark ("?"), meant to be answered.

Good example: "how is that spam?" -- Partyghoul
Bad example, and I quote: "the english LG offsets for AdvanceMart 2005" -- Partyghoul

IOW, not a question. More like an order. And we don't do that sort of stuff here, unless it's a hearty STFU.

Which is the best you can hope for, Ghoul. I suggest you read this.

Great. Now all you need is an answer. That may take a while, and maybe nobody knows it. Either way, don't ask it again or it'll only take longer.

Hope you learned something from this.

hmm. Each time I try to export anything using sappy (even after giving it a filename like "lol.bin") i get an RTE 76

Ban evasion ACTIVATE! RTE 76 is "Path not Found". Again, make sure at least one of the tags shown in the info panel is in the textbox. It's not a path, not a file name, but a file pattern!

Hello, Xauna here.

I've been having a particular problem with Rubikon that, despite my searching through the other board archives, does not seem to have an answer.

Background info: Hack of Pokemon Sapphire. The only copy I could get my hands on was a Mugs copy, however.
Running on Windows XP.

So, I opened Elite Map. I was following the Rubikon tutorial, and ctrl+clicked on the fat dude. The result?

Nothing happened.

Rubikon DID open up, but only to a blank screen. I repeated this with other people and events, but the same thing persisted. All it turns up is a blank Rubikon sheet.

I've seen that sometimes the answer was removing spaces from the filename. I did indeed try that, but it did not do anything. Then I attempted to work on a Ruby ROM(Mugs again), but once again to no avail.

I am NOT getting any error messages like I think I should. Just a blank screen that does pretty much nothing.

So, any ideas on what's wrong? My only idea is that it's due to it being a Mugs copy. If someone could verify or disprove this, I would greatly appreciate it. Another possibility is that I left out a vital step, like maybe decompressing something. However, I do not see mention of such a step in the tutorial, so I am not certain.

Thanks for your time.

Mugs aside, if EliteMap can load the maps, it can pass the object you pointed at to Rubikon. Rubikon doesn't care about the ROM. You could let it read and compile to a seperate file!

So, there must be other things at work here... Hmm...

No. You don't even know what version you are using? Just get the latest one and everything in his INI will be in yours. I'm really getting tired of your posts, do you even think before you post? Download the program. If no INI has it, then it is not supported, no one is going to tell you it as we've made it clear. Ask around on PC, they tolerate these kind and quality of posts.

OH MY GOD THAT ACTUALLY WORKED.

Of course. It HAD to be a simple solution. It always is. Heavans forbid it's something like a vital system file, or maybe incompatable. Of all things, is something as simple as adding '.gba' to a little white rectangle.

Now if you'll escuse me, I have to rethink getting into the ROMhacking buisiness. This is the single saddest mistake in the history of mankind.*

Thank you, mister Spazzup, for making me see that I was overcomplicating matters.

That aside, I can finally get some work done. Whoo!

*Saddest mistake after science, anyway.

Don't worry, everyone had to start somewhere No one expects you to get things right the very first time, and if you're mature about things and ask questions the right way, people will always be willing to help like this. If only more people didn't ask so stupidly ._.;;
