ESE (Esrael Sonic Editor, I believe it stands for), is a good sonic hacker, as well.
It can hack maps, title cards, level names, music, and I think you can edit the sonic 3 special stages (blue spheres) as well.

Does the game end at Misty Maze 3? I couldn't finish the stage because it was unfinished.

Aside from that, I like it. I never found a situation to use to light speed dash, but it's cool nonetheless. Good job.

The starting point is misplaced, but the whole level's still there.

Has anyone made a comment about how the Azure Lake music slows down when you get speed shoes? Since it does. Also, I despise the Sonic CD jump sound, but that's just personal preference.

Otherwise, it's rather cool. Shoulda mentioned that stuff earlier.

Not the real good franchises, a zone based on Streets of Rage would have kicked some major behind.

Maybe a zone or act based on Beyond Oasis, Maybe that would not work out.

I said other sega franchises from the 16 Bit era, a franchise spans more then one game, moon walker only had one game on the genesis.

Maybe have little robot street punks walking around in a zone loosely based on streets of rage while a tune from streets of rage plays in the back ground.

So far the only franchises you are basing your hack around are spin offs of sonic games and moon walker.

I was suggesting maybe some zones based on phantasy star, oh and maybe more zones with Ristar music.

Umm, only song that just dose not fit in is that one moon walker song during a fight with Botnick at the end of spring yard zone, or what is that zone called now?

I have no guff with how you have the rest of it so far.

Oh yes, do you know how to add the effects to the sky like in the Japanese version of sonic 1? That would rock. So far the backdrop is too flat and lacks depth. Sonic 2 all the way to knuckles chaotics had this depth in use.

Yeah, i noticed, and i hope he dose more of those.

Im not sure what kind of graphics changes he plans on though, is going to go with rips as far as landscapes go, or dose he plan some custom stuff?

Yeah i know about ristar, i hope maybe we can catch some more stuff like that.

He used gunstar heros level complete music for shadows level complete music.

I would just like to see some other things thrown in.

What styles of zones do you plan on?

The basic stuff?
Green snow and so on.

Anything special in mind?

I just think some streets of rage music would kick some butt.
As would some other things not in there yet, oh yeah, do you think you could put sonic 3 sonic in your hack? He is my fav sonic design. So far i love MTA and shadow, but sonic 3 would look nice in there to.

Yeah, but so far i have only heard one ristar song, and that was the act that starts you in the wrong place.

I'm working on a bugfix release that fixes some of the issues that were present in this rushed release. Be patient and when the time comes, I'll release it. It should be done soon.

Cool beans!

I noticed them to, like when you go to options, sometimes it dose not work right and freezes.

I'm sure you also noticed how sometimes it stays saying sonic in the bottom corner even when you are MTA or Shadow.

Did you also notice how it freezes when fighting botnick in star light zone, or what ever name you gave that zone.

Also, please supply me with some screens of the life icon messing up, and what you did to make them mess up. I have not once made it fuck up THAT bad. If you're referring to how the Sonic life icon is there when you select the character from the options menu, then I already know -- I'm working on trying to figure out how to get it to load right, because it freezes the way I'm doing it now (which is why I left it out).

I'm using Gens and Kega, they do the same way on both.

Yeah, thats what I'm talking about, when you select them from the options menu.
When it trys to freeze is also when i select options, sometimes it dose and sometimes it dose not, their is really no pic to take as far as that part goes, it is just black like it froze between fades.

Im not sure what to show you as far as star light zone goes, it just stops.

SLZ doesn't freeze for me at all, so I dunno what's up with that one.

Anyway, I'm working on the life icon thing now, but, as expected, it's giving me issues when I try and compile the ROM. Wonderful. =\

I'll figure it out though. Release shouldn't be too far off now.

Let me guess, after this you guys will put the rest of the chaotix in there.
Hmmm...Charm in Labyrinth A1

Stealth was going in the right direction with his Sega CD demo he made.
It would be totally cool to have all the sonic\chaotix characters available for all 4 games.

Ok, i went back and tried re-downloading it, i think last time i DL it, it was corupted or something, this time it is not doing all that freezing.

That is dial up for you, im stuck with dial up and i have all kinds of problems with it.
I figure that was the problem.

Okay - Official new release ready!

Changes since the public beta:

- Double Jump fixed for Shadow; Jump Dash added for Sonic
- Issue of life icons not loading while starting a game from the options screen fixed -- you'll like the new system better. =P
- Zone layouts for Sunset Hill (GHZ) and Starry Night (SLZ) are complete. New layouts thanks to Robjoe1107.
- Music playlist modified (and that damn Splash Down port fixed =P)
- Various bugs fixed (Like the starting position in LZ3)

Any other issues, let me know. The Game Over screen should work now too -- dunno what caused that one...

I used Lunar IPS and had no problems.
And I'm not sure that any version should mater, i used the Japanese version J and the JUE version, no problems.

If you did not use Lunar IPS try using that.
I never have any problems with that patcher.

By the way Tweaker i love the new boss music at the end of city outskirts zone, it rocks more and it sounds more like music that you would hear when fighting a boss.

I can not wait for any graphics changes you may make later, as is the first zone has too many of the same colors in use, it is kind of annoying to look at, I'm sorry i should not nitpick and i do know what you were going for maybe change the checker pattern to kind of a greenish soil color.

Actually, i could show you what i mean by way of screen shot.




Here, this may have looked better, as is everything but the water looks like it has the same color and it is kind of painful to look at, anyhow... sorry for nitpicking, i can not wait to see what you do next.

When I get to Misty Maze 3, I still start above the level and still can't finish it. Does anyone else has this problem? Or did I patch this right?
