Slurred speech.

Given how he had a stroke last year, perfectly understandable. But if he was in perfect health, you could easily make the argument that he was plowed.

He did look happy to be there though, so I don't think we've seen the end of Dick yet... besides, once he retires then Ryan Seacrest takes over as permanent host.

It was known last December. But from the most recent New Year's story...

Dick Clark returned to host ABC-TV's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" for a worldwide broadcast audience estimated at 1 billion people. Now 76, he has missed the celebration only once in 32 years — last year, when he was recovering from a stroke.

"It's real good to be back with you again this year," Clark said slowly, slurring his speech. "You and I have been a part of each other's lives for so many New Year's Eves that I wouldn't have missed this for the world."

76? Aww, the Officially Licensed Girlfriend (tm) and I had said 78. Really, I would have said less drunk and more broken jaw. I tip my cap to Tricky Dick.

I remember I used to spend every New Years with my two best friends.

Time sucks, I want to go back to being 6. 10 years later and I was sitting in a room with a person who I've wanted to yell at for the last few days.

Well, still like 60 more New Years to go, mirite?

Who rang in the new year winning a game of scrabble with the american english bastardization of the word Djinn? That's right. 38 points. Double letter on the J, and double word on the N. Happy New Year, Acmlm's.
