It seems to me that every time someone posts, it drops. And guess what! People post every 10 seconds here! If posting is NOT the problem, it sure as hell it ain't contributing to the "Lets Fix The Board" fund.

Also, HyperHacker, I did not know about these "bonuses", I havn't been on much the past few days...

Lets pretend the board is the United States.

We are here.

Now...In the US, when we see this High risk alert, we panic right?
Right. But do we go around throwing small objects at the terroists main base to see if it will bother them and make the risk go higher? No. I know this is all confusing, but I am trying to make a point. Apply our small file size posts to "Small Objects", and the boards server to "Terrorists Main Base".

S&T, check the display case. there are two thread there; Happy Hour and OH NO!. Those are the two bonuses that Xk made.

EDIT: Oh, and refresh the board a lot at index.php. see how fast it goes down?

I refresh once a ~second, and it goes down by .02 - .04 Mb a second. Tell me how that is supoed to be our posts doing that.

So yeah, sonicandtails, shut up until you know the main things behind this. 13 MB. Out of 10 GB. No, the posts are not the problem and scarcely add to it at all.

As a possible cause... Has function.php been modified recently? If so, perhaps it's not releasing all the momory it allocates or something? I don't honestly know how it works, but with the memory allocation errors yesterday, it could be possible, right?

You must realise, that I did not notice how steady and fast it was dropping when it was in the Gigabytes. I thought it was like, 10 MB every 60 seconds. Guess I was wrong. SORRY EVERYONE FOR HAVING AN OPINION AND TRYING TO ENFORCE IT!
I FORGOT THE INTERNET DOSNT ALLOW YOU TO DO THAT!

Oh, shut the fuck up, sonic. You having an opinion is fine; however, this had nothing to do with opinion, it was just you presenting utterly wrong facts and insisting they were right... And now you're yelling at people for calling you on it?

wtfwtfwtfwtfwtf

Take you own advice and just stop talking, kay?

Well it obviously does, because you did. In a very obnoxious manner too.
Just as others have the right to have an "opinion" which goes against yours. The internet allows it!

...geez, all this fuss becuse of someone having access/error logs turned on? I seen them growing very fast on my own server, that hardly anyone access so if you don't set any limit or something... i'm somehow leaning towards that. ~_~

Layouts are stored seperately now, with an ID number, so every time you post with the same one, it just retains that ID...

The current board's database totals about 16 MB, judging from the SQL dump I have here.

MouseJstr isn't on, and provided he isn't when hit hits ~100 MB, I'll have to shut this down for a bit to prevent anything from happening...

(and I still have no idea what's causing this, using my junky directory browser isn't showing any sort of huge files or giant temp directories)

Personally, I wouldn't save layouts for each post... Only in users... Which means changing your layout would change it in all of your past posts, as if you were on auto-updating.

They're not saved per post; as long as you're not a moron and change your post layout every time you post, it'll only be an ID number for the layout

Damn, I go to sleep and it drops 10%.

Something along the lines of that might be the problem. By that, I mean that something, when changed, is not stored with a seperate ID. The only thing I can think of at this point is to try one of your "ban everyone" acts to get everyone to stop posting, and see what happens. If it continues to go down, it is not related to posting. We might as well use narrow the problem down as far as possible, because even when Mousejstr cleans this mess up, the problem will still be there. In other words, he will only be delaying the inevitable. Seeing as how trying to do it by remembering the last time you made changes to the boards didn't work, we might as well.

EDIT: Hmm...we're now at the point where the bar is counting in bytes.

13:02'25''> Mouse: hmm
13:02'29''> Mouse: 1.9 is used by acmlm
13:02'33''> Mouse: wtf is using the rest

1.9GB is probably a mix of the 16 MB board and the 1.8 GB of files we have uploaded for acmlm.org

It's not this, that's for sure; the space has dropped much more than 1.8 GB total.
