| Durrrr, and if you're pausing all the time to screw around with shit but you keep running at normal speed then you age faster than everyone else. Yes, it turns out you can't think these through all the way without running into some IRONIC DRAWBACKS that will hit you like the guy in the story who gets his wish granted but it ends up killing him. | |||

| Or like someone else mentioned, get a full 12 hours sleep in 0 seconds.
Both have their drawbacks. Overusing pause, like Zem said, would mean you age faster. (Unless you didn't age while paused. That'd be cool.) Plus what of all the memories you accumulate while paused? You can't tell anyone because they'd simply think you're looney (or worse, discover your secret), and eventually you'd end up with so many it'd be hard to remember which were which. 
As for rewind, if you can't keep your memories, you'd do the same thing again and go into an endless loop of doing it, rewinding, doing it, rewinding, etc. Oh and what about that VCR/TV function? You could switch someone's view of the world between reality and the version you've fucked up with your superpowers.  |

| Nothing wrong with people discovering your secret. As these are described now, pause is my choice. I chose rewind before it got stealth-nerfed.
I was just saying that we shouldn't start coming up with dumb drawbacks to these things. Can't we have super powers without horrible consequences? I mean, come on. Anyway, pause is clearly the winner. I would definitely keep things paused while sleeping. You could easily get into the habit of pausing instinctively if something bad happens (e.g. someone throws a punch). You could "teleport." You could take your time and dominate in multiplayer games. Basically you could just be purely awesome all the time. To other people, it would appear that you never slept, you could teleport, you can do everything perfectly in no time at all, etcetera etcetera. |

Rewind would definately be handy. I make a LOT of mistakes and I would love to fix them all. |

| I need to make a balance hack for this poll.
First off let's just try again with individual elements 1. Instead of Rewind, let's just say... A jump back 24 hours in time. 2. Instead of fast forward, let's have... Superspeed, since leaping forward in time is an amazingly crappy power no matter how you put it. 3. Instead of pause, teleportation. No, this isn't going to be always better than super speed, unless you're using it strictly for movement, whereas super speed has other elements obv. Not that teleportation doesn't. 4. Playback can just be swapped with general omniscience... At the handicap of not being able to change anything. 5. Eject's fine how it is. 6. Record... Eh. I have no idea. Just be rid of it, I guess; it was pretty stupid. |

| I'll also stick with pause/teleporting. It depends really, on how super the super speed is. Is it the same speed that a VCR Forwards? Because that's not that big of a speed boost. | |||

Ok, at assumed 500x speed boost, I'd still probably pick teleporting, since you're liable to slam into something while boosting. Not to mention anyone you run over will likely be killed instantly |

Heh, this thread reminds me of some TV show I saw once. These kids were watching a movie, and they hit pause, and the movie keeps going but the cat on top of the TV freezes. Then they did a bunch of other stuff with the magic remote, like making some guy rewind and fast-forward, pulling his pants down and putting them back on again. I don't remember what else happened... I want to rewind, but only like... a hour each. Didn't do work? Rewind and redo. 
Pause then anyway, I admit I might do a few... illegal things but nothing that will hurt people (much). |
