YAY! I've been accepted to a program called People to People founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Bush is now the current Chairman. Basically it's a program where you get to be an Ambassador for about 3 weeks. This year they will be going to France and England. I can learn to sail... even though I already know how, go to Stonehenge, and other things. This sounds pretty cool. Do you think I should go? It seems like fun. Has anyone else gotten this honor before?

The letter doesn't say anything about cost, but it does say I would have to go to a local information meeting. Another thing is that I've been sailing before, so it wouldn't be new to me. Plus, it's summer, my lazy time. I'd rather go somewhere else instead of have to learn... But it does sound cool. This would be my first time leaving the country. I don't know. I really gotta think about this one.

I think it's a bit expensive... I was offered to go a few years back, but turned it down, since what was being done didn't appeal to me too much. If it sounds like fun, go for it. It's a rather unique experience.

Go for it, if I were you I'd do it. Leaving the country is a wonderful experience. Seeing other cultures and other ways of life is an amazing thing to experience.

If you have the expenses covered, I'd do it. I had opportunities to do stuff like that and more when I was getting towards getting out of high school but...I didn't have the money to do most of it and it was getting towards some bitchery with the folks right around that time.

This is the kid that wanted to go to Southern IL U for Engineering only to end up going to a comm college in Central because he didn't have enough.

Well, I can't afford it... ... so I guess I may not be going. It seems like fun though. Well, I guess I could wait until the next time... if there is a next time... and hopefully that would be more appealing to me too.

I was chosen for the same thing, to go to Australia instead, however we automatically realized that it was vastly beyond our money.

Seriously, they should try to find financing for the people they offer it with, or try to tone it down a bit. 'Cause it screamed of expensiveness.

Yeah, I was asked to go on that one too, but I couldn't afford it. Plus, I didn't really want to go. But then my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins went there and they had a lot of fun. I kinda wished I had gone, but instead that summer I went to Florida on a camping trip in the Keys.

This is something different than that. It's a program founded by president Eisenhower where you get to be an Ambassador and then go to other countries. I think that's something different.

Eh, it sounded semi-similar to the thing I got. The thing I'm talking about invoved meating Congess people, going to the U.N. for foreign relations stuff, and going to another country for the U.N. I'd go, but it costs a metric crapton.
