An "download the editor" link to an instant ban?

oh please oh please
Yes, but what about the innocent folk.
Oh, what was that "Blow up the board" link again!?

http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?pid=103607&r=1#103607 <<-----click on the trap hole to download the editor.

I revived a closed topic in the display case! is that a very bad thing?!

I did some retexturing with Super Mario Sunshine Textures.

Stone temple with a new bars texture.

Just a normal screenshot..

Gates open!

Apparently all of the bar textures are the same, so this is the Chomp's gate.

Nice looking mountain.

I wanted to give the stone cubes more Boxy-feeling. Boxes > Stone cubes.

Looking good You could make some textures a little higher resultion (you can do that with Rice's video plugin, why not here? Sure, it makes the file larger but it would look nicer, a great gift to all those graphic nerds)

True, but can you make textures hi-resser then they already are, like Rice's Video plugin?

This place will always be off-topic.
We have n00bs for NES, for N64, it gets 8 times worse!
Ever since Lunar Magic was released, we've still had endless stupid questions.

Hey guys, I'm a pretty good hacker and stuff and I know how to use Lunar Magic good, but how do you add objects into the game?

Just imagine how bad it will be with THIS!?
I'm not saying VL has crappy programming skills that make this editor hard to use, it's just ... the n00bs ... ahh!
Sorry for keeping this off-topic, but with nothing left but to wait, what else.
I'm still learning a few things myself, and I've gone back to the first thread to look at all sorts of things.

Well, that FAQ that's coming should help with the questions. And VL-Tone, I was only trying to keep this alive so that TT64 could make it before the spam flows in. Although, It would be easier to split this thread into two: General SM64 Hacking and another thread TT64 Released.

N00bs don't read FAQs they ask questions that are answered in the FAQ using AOL 1337 talk.
I don't want to start a flamewar, so I'll shut up now.

I think the thread about the TT64 should be named something like:
"Toadstool 64 questions (READ FAQ FIRST)" leaving no exuses for not reading the faq!!

That would be good but just in case, Make sure the Faq is in the first post with a link in BIG BOLD LETTERS saying "READ THIS BEFORE YOU ASK OR YOU RISK BANISHMENT!"

That might help a little, but there's always a few idiots who just reregister after getting banned, so that message isn't threatening to some. What should happen is that there should be an option that shows a person's IP, so that way, if they happen to screw up, something might happen that they would never regret. Although this might seem a little cruel... Bah. Whatever.

anders339 & Raccoon Sam: It may be possible to put a higher resolution texture into the ROM, if the existing texture is smaller then the N64's texture memory. Information about the texture size, location, and format is in the the GBI commands, so you would need to locate the ones that set up and load the texture.

Administrators can already see user's IPs in online.php, and they got an IP search too, so this aspect is already handled.

...oh, and Xkeeper can IP ban users, which also helps.

BTW, I have attached a tutorial dedicated to editing level music, since the music editing part of jensthecomposer's document has some mistakes and doesn't contain my new discovery yet.

When I said that, I didn't mean an IP ban. I meant hacking. Like deleting some precious hacks or something.

I've been messing around with some game shark and I found out that water is stored in chunks rather than one whole pancake. The water conection data can be messed around with, by using gameshark. However, I haven't been able to find out how to modify theese chunks of water . Whomp's fortress and the castle's basement have extra water data that sets the bottom of the water level. I once was able to swim in the lower parts of the basement.

Btw, the collission/terrain data below the castle grounds is spooky... I was down there some time ago.
