Finally, an easier look at textures with TileMolester! I have been spending a good amount of time looking for more than scrambled pixels, and here it is! Coming soon, as in how soon?

You're all newbies if you think about it. I, on the other hand, am not. I've been on the old boards since Janurary 2003, and have been reading the new boards since November 17th.

Next time, please don't call others nwebies, if you are also a newbie.

1. You didn't show us jack shit

2. Did you just pick a random date off of the top of your head?

3. I am awesome.

4. Does this have anything at all to do with SM64?

that reminds me.... in volume 203 of Nintendo Power, it says the wall kick was first introduced in mario sunshine, when it was first introduced in mario 64. Wall Kicks Will Work, the last star in Cool, Cool, Mountain = sm64 related

Anyway... back on topic. I forgot about the ROM extender and Text Wrangler, so I downloaded them, and the extended rom works on 1964, but on PJ 64, the game is in a sort of Turbo Mode. Can someone help? By the way, your Text Wrangler is perfect, VL-Tone! It's keepin me occupied until TT64 comes out! I already have the text for my hack all ready. One thing, is there an updated version? Because I can't edit the pause menu, or the Star names. I'm sorry if this was all explained before, if it was, just ignore me, don't flame me.

Besides all of your previous logic, Metroid says hello. That was two years of hello between the two.

To avoid confusion, directed at koin.

Oops! I went to bed earlier yesterday, forgetting to post the texture location list.

Here it is, attached to this message.

There are 849 textures in this list, and it doesn't include fonts and other menu graphics.

Textures with type 0x10 should be decoded as 16-bit RGBA 5551 color.
The ones with type 0x70 are also 16-bits but 8 bit grayscale with an 8 bit alpha mask.

It's possible that some are missing, since like I explained, the whole level and polygon data must be decoded to find texture locations.

Wow! Thanks, VL-Tone! I'm currently using this to edit Bob-Omb Battlefield's painting. This is really helpful!

I really don't like the fact that VL-Tone's text wrangler doesn't read the Font graphics from the ROM itself.
So If I edit the Font in, say, Tile Molester, it stays like the original font in text Wrangler.
For my translation patch I had to make the letters "ö" and "ä" over "z" and "x".
So in the wrangler it looked like "etkz sinx" but in the Game itself, it was "etkö sinä".

I don't mean to sound like a nOOb but, is there a way to change the font in Sm64?
The text is kinda hard to read!

You can change the font on an extended ROM (use VL-Tone's ROM extender) by replacing the letter graphics in Tile Molester. It doesn't affect the text editor though.

If you've noticed, there's a difference between "noob" and "newb/newbie". "Noob" is a reference to an idiot of some sort (reference to you, Koin), or as S.N.N. puts it, a dick. A "newb/newbie" is simply a newcomer. A newbie is just generally clueless on forum rules and unintentionally breaks them.

I am using your texture list and enjoying it, VL-Tone. But where are the textures for Chain Chomp or others like Goombas, Stars, and Bob-Ombs?
