Can you show me a picture of where I should enter that? Here is the path mine takes

C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\Desktop\New Folder (2)

its just called new folder 2 because all im doing is learning how to put ExGFX in this hack and then deleting it.

The ExGraphics Folder should be in the Folder where your Hack is.

If your Hack is here:
C:\myhack\myhack.smc

then the ExGFX should be in
C:\myhack\ExGraphics\ExGFXxx.bin

There's your problem. it HAS to be in a sub-folder of your hacks folder called "ExGFX".

Like this
\somehack\ is your hack's folder
c:\somehack\ExGraphics\ExGFXxx.bin

no, ExGFXxx.bin is the name of your ExGFX File. where xx is the ID of the ExGFX.

You have your hack on the desktop or in the folder on the desktop?

It is probably best not to work on the desktop... things get weird when working with stuff on it.

Anyway, if the hack is in New Folder (2) then put inside that folder a folder called ExGraphics and then inside that folder put the ExGFXxx.bin inside there. THEN insert it.

I don't see why this is so hard to grasp...

I'm sorry about that but I just really need help.

I put the file in my documents. In New Folder (2) there is a file called ExGraphics inside that folder. Isnide ExGraphics folder is ExGFX81.bin . I also noticed that even if I dont insert the graphics and go to the 16x16 tile editor and press F3 it imports garbage but the garbage is in the positions as the pictuer of the ExGFX I want.. I think i'm close but I still need help. Oh and by the way this is how the path looks now.

C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\New Folder (2)\ExGraphics

That's that you haven't Bypassed the Level

Level > Super GFX Bypass
Check the Bypass of Standard FG and BG
Then change the FG3 to the Number of what you have typed in ExGFXxx.bin

You're not susposed to do that until you have the ExGFX in the ROM. I tried it anyways and it didn't work.

I must be doing somthing else wrong. Please help me figure out what it is.

C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\New Folder (2)\ExGraphics

Then your rom has to be in C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\My Documents\New Folder (2)

Looking at that screenshot, maybe LM shouldn't be there.

Like for me:

LM Path: C:\Chris\SMWHacking\LunarMagic.exe
My Hack's path: C:\Chris\SMWHacking\SM32\Super Mario 32.smc
ExGFX path: C:\Chris\SMWHacking\SM32\ExGraphics\

It didn't make a difference. Maybe I wasn't meant to get ExGFX in a rom.

In the ExGraphics, it should be a ExGFXxx.bin File.

1. Then open the Hack with Lunar Magic
2. Go to a Level where the ExGFX should be
3. Click the Yellow Mushroom
4. Level > Super Bypass
5. Check the Box
6. Change the FG3 to the ID of your ExGFX (when your ExGFX is 81 then change to 81)
7. Go to the 16x16 Layer Editor
8. Go to a Empty Place
9. Press F3, then Yes
10. Click F9 to Save it to the Room
11. Now you can build with the Add Object

I wish I could get past step 3 because then it would be easy.
