It wasn't even the worst loss in the league tonight.

Vancouver destroyed the Isles 8-1 and Buffalo KILLED Los Angeles 10-1.

We need to do well over our next stretch. We play a rare Monday game against Dallas at home and then it's time for a 6-game road trip... Calgary, Vancouver, Carolina, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Toronto.

Islanders y Kings: I'll pass the Bactine. Hell, the high school hockey team I cover could've done better than that. Sure, they're now 6-1 and haven't lost in almost a month, but still...

Ours is worse, trust me. You guys have the Thrashers in there which I'd prefer in the place of Carolina or Ottawa. Those are six REALLY good playoff-bound teams.

...Well, five plus Toronto.

Tonight has been the first time Montreal won two games in a row since the beggining of November.

That says alot

(4-2 Montreal)

Powerplay: 3/7
Penalty Kill: 100%

Ribeiro suddenly can score goals.

---

In other news, Ovechkin got quite a sweet goal in his game tonight.

Gainey probably threatened the whole team with bus rides to Hamilton if things didn't improve.

We needed those two wins before the road trip of hell. I'll be happy winning half the games on it to be honest.

6 nasty games is a road trip of hell? It could be worse though...

San Jose had a 10 game, trans-continental road trip in 1999--sharks played in all four US time zones (1 game in pacific, 2 in mountain, 2 in central, and 5 in eastern), spent 17 days on the road, logged 8,000 air miles...

I hope my Habs can beat the LAFFS tomorrow night.

HOPE, of course, being the key word. It's going to be an ugly game I fear for both teams.

Apparently Wayne Grretzky and Rick Tocchet are involved in some sort of gambling ring

Gretzky's innocent. Trust me, the media in Canada is making WAY too much of a deal about his possible knowledge of it... Tocchet is screwed though.

Wayne will be in Turin as Canada looks to grab gold. I guess you can talk about Olympic hockey either here or in the Turin thread.

As the trading deadline approaches tonight, the following deals were made:

Avs and Habs swap goalies (Aebischer for Theodore)
Minnesota ships of Roloson to the Oilers
Sharks get Nieminen from Rangers for 2006 Draft Pick
Kings send 4 players to Islanders to get 4 players in return from NY
Devils get Lukowich from the Islanders
Rangers get Ozolinsh
Ducks re-acquire Friesen
Sergei Samsonov leaves Boston for Edmonton

Nothing large except for the goal swap between Avs and Habs in my opinion...

I just witnessed something I never thought I would've. Columbus trailing Detroit 3-0 in Joe Louis Arena, they come back and make it 4-3, then Detroit ties it. They end up going to a shootout where Columbus out scores Detroit 1-0 for the win. Shows that anything can happen no matter what your record is.

if it weren't for the new rules, there wouldn't be a shootout, let alone a chance for the blue jackets to come back from a 3-goal deficit
