For the first year of my job here, I'd have a hiccup every day at lunchtime. Just one, after I came back from my actual lunch break. Every working day only -- not weekends.

Strange.

Oh, btw, always when Iīm eating carrots, small pieces of them gets stuck in my throath. That causes many hiccups to me but it helps to drink as itīs only to try to swallow them.

But itīs darn annoying.

Sounds like a problem with what you had for lunch, Taryn.

Well, I don't really get hiccups... The last time I remember getting them was sometime as a kid; maybe like 6 or 7... I don't really know people who oftenly get them, either.

Yeah, but I'm not particularly consistent with what I eat. Or what I do at lunchtime for that matter -- some days I walk a lot, go places, other days I don't. The only thing consistent about all my lunchbreaks is the elevator ride from the 17th floor to ground, and back again o.o

Theoretically, that could be it, though. It's unlikely, but eh, what causes hiccups can be rather unexpected, and inconsistent.

Meh, I just thought it was kinda odd. It was also odd how it never happened when I was idle -- only when I was on a phone call to a client.

"Click on start... settings... control panel... ma -- *hic* *pause; hopes client didn't hear that loud hiccup* mail...."

That's how it is at school, too. If you have them in class, you can try your best to keep them quiet, but if you have to talk... that's when they come bursting out.

Jeez, guys. When you put it like that, it's hard not to feel sorry for you...

Aww... it doesn't worry me, it's just funny when the client asks what you said when you said "*hic*". Or goes "what was that noise?"

And you know, with all this talk of hiccups, I've done it twice now on the phone to clients this afternoon. Both times I've suppressed it well though. Stealth hiccups -- just a random pause in my speech, muahaha!

Ah, being on the phones and making noises is fun. Hiccups, sneezes... last week gagging... trying to stealth-drink your coffee without the client hearing you....

I rarely get them these days but they are annoying... I try to hold them off as long as possible but then they just get worse.

I only get them when I was about 6-13 years old. I don't get them anymore on my current age.

A lot of people seem to be saying that the hiccups stop as you get older...

I'm 16. Is that not old enough?

But what makes some people get hiccups more often than others?

It must have a cause.

Traps. I've said it time and time again. Read the threads you post in before you post.

It wasn't even his first post in this thread.
That was just retarded.

But anyway. I got home from work, and got the hiccups. They won't go away.

Hmm... do ou have any allergies that might be the cause?

Perhaps you have an allergy, and it's causing your diaphram to be screwy or something.
