Yeah, I know I've been making a few threads these last couple of days. Spending the day home, sick is kinda dull.

Well, right at the moment, I'm cooking some rice for dinner. It must be getting ready, cause I can smell it now.

Got me thinking about smells. Smell is one of those things that I find REALLY helps set a mood, or bring back a memory or such. The smell of the rice cooking right now is somehow calming on this hot, hot December evening.

Other smells I like, besides food smells are the smell of one of my electronic applicances. It's this strange, sweet smell, and my mother's old electric beater used to make the same smell when used. Every time I smell it, I'm reminded of being a little kid in the kitchen helping Mum bake a cake, and we got to lick the beaters.

Another smell I like is the smell of rain. Again, another moody, calm smell.

What smells do you like? What do they remind you of?

The smell of sunflower seeds reminds me of all the days I spent at the baseball fields for my brother's games/all the days on the softball field for my team. They're nice memories. Sunflower seeds are like nostalgiac for me.
Wendy's reminds me of my best friend as a kid. Kind of odd... but true. She would get Wendy's for dinner 6 out of the 7 nights a week for dinner, because she absolutely loved the place and it was right by our neighborhood. A distinct memory of my time with her is having to go home when she ate her Wendy's, or sometimes eat with her because her dad loved me and would often get me dinner for no reason.
There's more I'm sure... I just can't think of any at the moment.

I donīt know if this reminds me of something but I like the smell of sulphur. Maybe itīs because I love fireworks too.

I also like the smell of rain and I agree that it has this calm feeling.

Hmm, Iīll see if I can come up with more, later on.

Funny, I really hate the smell of rice. I really do. I hate it... alot.

While I actually like... the smell of flatulence. As wierd it sounds. And like Trapster said, Sulphur smells pretty nice too...

Now, smell of rain is pretty calming. Although I dunno if it's smell of rain, but more like "smell of rain against asfalt".

And I like the smell of my NES... really it smells in a way when it's been in the box for awhile and it's always have smelled like that.

Uh, what kind of flatulence? I got tons of results on urbandictionary.com

"Fart, gas, cheese, break wind, cut, cut cheese, rip, ripped the cheese, let, let one, ripper, skunk bait, fluffer, poofer, false pooper, put-put, poof-poof, brown-dart, blue-dart, chair air, room clearer, angel's whisper, the dog did it, rotten eggs, anal methane."

I hate the smell of broccoli.

Smell...yeah, definatly the strongest sense for me. I can smell something and it will jog back a random memory...like, I might smell smething that smells like a place or that I smelled at a place, even if I was only there once One of my favorite scents is the scent of rain, though...its very soothing, and it brings back so many memories of when I was younger, and just reminds me of home for some reason. I guess it brings out the kid in me stiil

I love the smell of new shoes. It's just an intoxicating smell for me.

Also I like to smell smelly shoes BEFORE YOU ASSUME I AM A FREAK the only reason I like to smell smelly shoes because I once had these pair of Adidas shoes in 9th grade that smelled SO BAD that since then I have yet to meet a smelly shoe to beat or match that odor.

My nose is really sensitive and I love great scents. I don't like artificial smelling crap. I love the smell of my house, my mom, old books. Those are all really comforting to me. There is this one book we had called "The Adventures of American Rabbit and Chocolate Moose"(I shit you not), and it was the most foul smelling object ever. But it was addicting.

i bet rubber cement will also float your boat...

hmm... I usually don't notice smells that much. I know I can smell rain, and various foods. But usually emotions are triggered by them for me... it is either that or, I just never noticed

I don't mind all that much, and I'm actually glad I can't smell well sometimes. On the other hand, I'm wondering whether I should consider surgery to get my nose fixed. My nose isn't totally straight anymore, but you can't notice it unless you check closely from a certain angle.

When forcing air out of my nostrils right in front of a mirror, I can see my left nostril makes less mist than the right one...

Some farts do actually smell kinda neat. Though 99% of the time they're just gross. As for gas, it smells good, but smelling it is bad.

Though really I'd be happy not smelling anything if I could just have my nose removed or something. Nosebleeds suck.
