For those of you who dont know what a mash up is, it basically using 2 or more songs and combining them into one new song. I did one of Shine Down and Metallica. The songs are 45 and Nothing Else Matters. It can be downloaded here: http://www.freewebs.com/kario/Shinetallica%20-%2045%20Matters.wma It isnt illegal to download mashups because they arent real published material. If ya can, give it a listen andlet me know what ya think.

Well, you use hundreds of dollars worth of software. Thats how you do it. I use Adobe Audition and Sony Acid Pro.

And I'm sure you spent hundreds of dollars on this software too...

And mashups are stupid, I never saw the point of them.

Dude. Windows Media? EVERYONE knows the internationally accepted format is MP3. (whack)

I'm more taken with the full album mashups, like Dangermouse's "Grey Album" and Lush Life's "West Sounds".

"Blue Eyes Meets Bed Stuy" respectfully disagrees, but concedes the merit of death metal/bluegrass mash-ups.

If you say what is the point of mashups, what is the point of music? Its just another genre.

If anyone asks, yes, I did buy that software. *wink

http://www.freewebs.com/kario/Shinetallica%20-%2045%20Matters.mp3

Thats a higher quality mp3 version.

Maybe make an m4a version? It has a better sound quality and is often times used by iTunes. And when bands make mashups, they often just play their songs together instead of using software for those who don't know.

Liam Howlett's Prodigy Dirtchamber Sessions Vol 1 is the greatest mashup album ever. No contest.

Dirtchamber Sessions is a mix album, not a mashup.

I'd have to say the best mashup album is American Edit. It's done by Party Ben and a few others under the pseudonym Dean Gray. Very good.

Hey, could someone move this to Modern Art? I think it would be more appropriate there.
