| So one of my good friends back at Stanford will, as it turns out, be working in the same area as I will be this next fall. Funny I say one of my good friends, because I met her freshman year but barely talked to her the next two years (one of which she was away all year)...and then quickly became very close this past fall. Anyway, I was interested in her pretty early on, and she doesn't really have any romantic entanglements from what I can tell, but due to various circumstances I never actually made a move on her and dated another girl and just stayed friends with this one.
Things with the other girl went to shit around the time I left the country, and I suspect she may have been cheating on me with this guy even before, though obviously she won't admit it. I've kept in some email contact with my friend, since she doesn't use AIM, but I've really found myself more and more drawn towards her...maybe I'm just building it up in my mind. She definitely sees me as a rather close friend, but I have no idea about more than that. Any idea to gauge that before I ask her out and make things awkward, which it will if she's not interested? Or should I just not go for it at all? |

A: See it. The play is amazing (seen it twice) and the movie isn't that bad either. I mean, the message is there and its with the orginal cast (save for two) so yea, go see it and tell me how you liked or dislikedit. Q: So help on what I can tell him to do? A: He needs to find something to keep his mind busy. A book. A new hobby. A video game. Something. Its always hard to get someout out of your mind/system, be it a close friend or something more. Heck, I still have dreams with my ex-boyfriend from HS that I haven't seen in years, people tend to stay in one's system, no matter how long the speration has been or if the two have never met. That's something that I don't think anyone can fix. But while awake, you just have to take it slow. Put aside your norm and do things that can calm you on the inside. Maybe even a walk with some upbeat music. I'm not even sure if any of this makes sense tho. Sorry. Q: maybe I'm just building it up in my mind. Or should I just not go for it at all? A: You're gonna have to ask her how she feels about you. Actually, you may want to find out if she even intrested in any type of relationship. For all you know, it may not be you, but she has other things to worry about than having someone special. You also have to think about this: if it doesn't work out, will be able to be friends? Is the friendship worth the risk? Only you can answer that one. Lucky for me, I've stayed friends with my crush(es). |

Funny, orginally, I would talk to so many people that I meant online. Then some left, others I ran out of things to say...eventually, I ended up talking to just 4+ people. And now these days, I mostly talk to people that I know in RL. Freaky. A total 360. |

| I'm thinking there's a good chance, based on what I've gathered during the few months I've been good friends with her (and not counting the email correspondence since I've been here, which isn't great for determining that), that she might just not be that interested in general. But I could be completely wrong. A lot of the reason I wonder is because she's a very friendly person, but she's rather shy in social situations...a lot like I am, really, except that I've often made an effort to do otherwise. And actually, from what she's said in her emails, she has been making more of an effort this term. I had suggested that maybe she should, so maybe she's following my advice...which would speak well for it.
Really, I don't know what'll happen. But I'll be sure to keep you updated. I just wish there were some magic way to know that you could tell me  |

| Oh, I definitely will do so. Another thing that has helped me with a girl in the past is when we have a mutual friend who's more my friend than hers, and will therefore provide a good source of info on her intentions without giving away mine...which I don't have in this case, so I have to kind of play it by ear. Which is tough.
I guess any more specific advice would necessitate you knowing her personally  |

| Well, I posted in the staff thread mentioning that I will be busy for the next week or so, so I'm not going to be that active for a while still.
1. KH2. 2. I want to hit lvl 50 in City of Heroes (I'm 42 right now) 3. Elder Scrolls IV 4. Store-wide inventory on Sunday (which means I'll be there until 3am, maybe longer) 5. We're working on the new relay/marketing for the store on Tuesday (this is my hell week) 6. I should be getting X-amount of pages for the recounts. You see, when we do inventory, we can use scanners, but recounts..thats all by pen and paper. 7. Add in my usual 45+ hours at work. 8. Going out to movies and hanging with friends who are not busy. 9. Spending time w/hubby ..so yea, I've got a lot of things to do and, sorry, but posting here is at the bottom of my to-do list. |

| Well you said you were leaving, Elmo, and I didn't know whether you meant from here for a while or just as a mod or what...and you seemed like you didn't want to give advice either.
So as for a question, something I've always been a bit awkward about...what's a good way to find out if a girl is single? It's just so hard to work into a conversation with someone you're talking to without making it obvious that you're interested and it coming out really clumsily, and if you don't find that out and things are going well and you ask for their number...well, that's just awkward. |

| Hm, what PSP games would you reccomend?
A: Depends on what you like. Okay, first off, you need to get a hold of Capcom Puzzle (I think thats the name of it) they're putting Super Puzzle Fighter 2 to the PsP.  I was going to buy it for the GBA and/or PsX, but I'm going to hold off for the PsP one.
Then you got: Bust a Move: Deluxe Capcom Classics Collection Remixed Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower Go! Sudoku (not my type of game, but if you like this puzzle game...) Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (or you can wait and play it on the Ps2.) Gradius Collection (comes out in the summer. This will be my Lifeforce {NES} fix!) Guilty Gear Judgement (also not out yet) Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee Kingdom of Paradise (RPG) The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion (another RPG that I need to finish) Lumines (if you only get one game, get this one!! I didn't understand it until I actually played it.) Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play (nothing is better than old school) Namco Museum Battle Collection (see above) Untold Legends I & II (got old fast for me, but you like want to have a go with it) Wipeout Pure Y's: The Ark of Napishtim (I still need to play this myself) ---- what's a good way to find out if a girl is single? A: Just bring it up casually. If you're talking to her for a while, say something like, "You know, we've been here for a while, you're you boyfriend get upset if you haven't contacted him yet" or something along those lines. |
