Ohh boy, the leading statement is always the hardest part for me. Correct me if I'm wrong(please), but does any religion besides the Abrahamic followers of God who found Jesus to be His son [since then condensed into Christians] give clear teaching of what to do and what not, and have a constant source of redemption and forgiveness? It seems like other religions are either very general principles or make up rules as things go so people can follow it better (and it's sad how many Catholics don't recognize hell, yet believe in the fictional purgatory). Then there are physical and/or mental disciplines that recognize a form of spirit, not quite a religion but maybe a code followed to unlock certain feats otherwise unattainable. Christianity has seemed the most complete path for me, in truth having no prerequisites and building love, wisdom, will, and sincerety. Among other basic things, it is a faith where the created have a loving bond with their Creator. I go to a Catholic church simply because it's most accesible and know that the sermons there are never laced with lies. I'm also in a mainly Protestant youth group (Element Student Ministries) that is 500x greater than any catechism I know of for its Truth and manner of speaking. It's sooooo great to be secure spiritually, I don't think many people have that today, no matter what faith.

geeogree, those polygamy examples you cited mean absolutely nothing. I said the Catholic church didn't condone it. That was part of the Jewish faith, and just like keeping Kosher, it has been done away with by Jesus. And why? Because he cared about women, and that was one of the things The Church did, went against polygamy when a lot of others supported it.

Also, from what you've posted and the assumptions you've made, you're hardly in a position to be telling everyone else they always assume they're right...because that's essentially all you've done, make unfounded statements and attack other people and their religions.

Yes, when they're factually wrong! When you're absolutely wrong and know nothing about the time period (or institution in question) then you're wrong! It's one of those cases where it is not me, but rather, it is you.

Yeah, you should see with the increase of scientific uncovering the secrets of the universe you will see religion disappear completly.

I think it's this age were living in more than anything; we've got so many people that believe different thing, yet everyone don't follow their standards; I'm a hardcore christian, but you can find me listening to music by disturbed, and evanesence.
It's sad when no one is dedicated like they should be; I'm blaming myself, too!

Funny that you should mention Evanescence, actually. They're not in the same category as, say, Creed, who is a fairly blatant "mainstream Christian rock" band, but both by their own admission at some points, and from my own impression of the lyrics, they seem to have some Christian inspiration in their music. It's hardly "holy" stuff or anything, but at the same time it's hardly in the same category as Disturbed or SoaD.

I said evanescense because their music is very depressing; it feels so dark and bitter, but I love it anyway.
