I have been tring to get my FF7 to play without a CD.
I got it to boot by mounting some dummy ISOs but I can't get it to play movies from the HDD.

Here is what I have...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII]
"DataDrive"="F:"
"MoviePath"="C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\Movies\"

I dont think your going to succed. Im quite sure that it will check what kind of drive its reading from. Now, if it doesnt, then it really has no copy protection, and you might be able to get it goin. If you wanna send me the .exe ill have a look at what it is doing for ya.
