Earlier today, I got bored and thought "I don't know how to do hex editing, so why don't I muck about with a hex editor?" I got a copy of my Ed Edd n Eddy:Jawbreakers! Rom, and changed a few values. I ended up changing a few of Double D's Lines:

Alex was Eddy....

...And An H-bomb was Fresh cut grass.

What I would like to know, though, is were the level data values are. It'd be cool if I could make my own levels. Could someone find these values for me? Thanks!

*sees thread title*
*gleams*
*opens*
*finds no data*

You BASTARD! YOU RUINED MY DREAM! I THOUGHT YOU FOUND THE LEVEL DATA! ARGH! *

Well, all anger aside, that text is not something that I find funny. Not at all. That is not something Double-Dee would say. A simple text edit is not that great... especially just two words.

Anyway, if you want to find the level data, you are better off finding it yourself. Corruption helps wonderously, as well as looking for patterns in the rom. I could find the data, but out of my free whim (and GBA games are a lot bigger in corrupting than NES or SNES for that matter). Asking for someone to find data is kind of frowned upon... but I could look up some... after I get the rom and beat the game on my GBA...

Also, be sure that you can edit the graphics (and sound for that matter) before you rename the characters. Having Eddy be Alex and look like Eddy makes me feel like he is still Eddy. Because he is, but anyway...

*Note: Ed, Edd n Eddy is my favorite show. This was showing how much I like the show. No offence against you... well, some, but all in joking.

Okay, I'll find more values! BTW, If I wasn't a BIG fan of Ed, Edd n Eddy, do you think I would have downloaded the rom in the first place?

a) Don't just go asking people to FIND data for you. If you have looked and don't know where it is, you can ask if people have FOUND the data, but don't specifically ask them to find what you're looking for. People usually won't go out of their way for that.

b) cpubasic: your.....favorite show? I find the show to be terrible. It's definitely not funny, and it's not smart or anything of that sort to make up for it. Hell, it's also poorly animated, to make matters worse. What's good about it? (and I ask that in all seriousness, since I've heard other people praise this show. I just don't get it)

c) Boyblurt: people who aren't BIG fans of stuff download ROMs of that stuff all the time. So yes, I think you would.

Sorry, but I'd really like the level data. I don't understand Hex very well, so I don't understand what the level coding would be.

If you open the rom with YY-CHR and scroll about halfway down, you can find most of the GFX. Take a look:

Sorry about the big image size.
