does it work with snes9x? zsnes does really strange things with my hack too O_o

Be more clearer on the problem next time. Is it the GFX and the screwed Mario thats wrong, or you edit a level and it won't show up in the emulator?

Move that patch to a different folder, then.

Edit: Or, I guess, turn off auto patching in your emulator of choice.
