| Hi everyone, I'd wish to translate FFVI advance from english to french but I don't have a clue about how to hack gba roms... I used to be able to play around the text of FFVI on the snes but I can't remember exactly how and i'm pretty sure that it's different from the gba. Anyway, i've been searching someone who could help me out for a while, I have no problem with the languages but I don't know exactly how to hack =\
I looked on quite a lot of sites but couldn't find anything that really suit me. I don't want to do some hardcore hack of the rom, just a translation that will probably also involve some graphic change. I don't want someone else to do the work for me, it's a project I'd like to do alone, along with all the help of how to do it. I know that probably some people have been "playing" in the rom and now how it works... I don't know much about GBA roms hack but when I try to find text in the rom with a Hexeditor, I can't find a thing. I don't know what kind of hexeditor I should use and I didn't found a graphic editor yet. I already tried to contact the guy who is translating the game into thai but he wouldn't answer. Even if you can't help me much, it would be very appreciated that you point me to some guide or tutorial that I may found useful. The reason why I want to translate the game into french is that many people of the french-speaking community that love this game don't know when they are going to get the euro version. Not only is there no date already but we don't even know if it will actually be released in french. I want them to fully understand and appreciate that game because it obviously worth it. I know it will take quite a time but to start I need some help, thanks to anyone trying to put me on the right track. |

Ohhh French version  well I don't speak French....
Hmmm there's a software by Ok Impala! which is called "WinHex" which works for Windows XP and if you have different platform. You should get Hexposure which is on DOS mode. That can edit your words through hexing. Also you need to create a table file as known as .tbl I think that's what you need to edit the text for the game. love to see the French version someday  |

| Ok I think that it's my problem... I don't know how to create this table... I'll search a bit around the internet and give news later, if anyone can help, feel free to do so!
EDIT: I just remembered how I'll tell some news later
Well, I know how to do make table files but I have no clue of how it works with gba roms =\ It must be compressed or something like that.
