Well,

I'm doing re-graphic (is that a word?) for Final Fantasy VI Advance. I just started it yesterday and then I like how it comes out.

Here's one screen of my work in progress.

Notice any differences?

I'll probably get it all done by the end of the month.

Nice!

How about bolding those numbers so the space between them doesn't stand out as much?

One thing I've always thought Square (or the hacking community, for that matter) should have done was to make it easier to create and transmit good text backgrounds. The default blue gradient is fine, but it's not at all obvious how to edit it, and since the shadows on the letters have to be black, it's hard to make dark-on-light patterns. One of the FF6 SNES hacks (Dragonsbrethren, was it?) had a great edited background.

Except I'm totally fucking hyped about Dracula X: Chronicles.

Usually its referred to a facelift, I haven't played much of FFVIa myself (the battle music is totally ruined imo) so I don't know what they changed and whats different.

I can't really put my hand on what you changed exactly... It sure look better but I couldn't tell what did you changed exactly, apart from the font and the battle menu... How about a list of the change you've made and the change you'll do?

Thanks that's the word I'm looking for "facelift"

@Heian-794: Well, I'm planning to do that to make it not so space-y like. I always hated the big font when I was in the battle. So, decided to change it. Also, the letters are toooooooooooooooooo small to read. Sheesh, what's up with Square-Enix now?

Anyway I'm planning to facelift the graphics and add new background wallpaper. I didn't like the original design such as the Chocobo.... do they wear glasses? They look like it.

Also, I gotta re-edit the colors because it turned out bad.

When you edit the menu background, post the RGB (0-31) values for the colors so that people can tweak it themselves. I once made a great background that had a solar yellow feel. Come to think of it, how about importing the 'burnished copper' text background from Chrono Trigger. I always liked that one.
