It's possibly something someone made with game maker or a really well done hack. I know that there wasn't a Zelda 2 for SNES so I can tell you right now that it Isn't a real Nintendo game.

Looks like Mock-ups. I thought it was for Z2E, but it's something else.

As far as I know, only Zelda 1 got a "BS" version on the SNES...

Anyway, this is probably some kind of amateur remake or something. Also, notice some screens are called like "p1mock" or "p3 mock 2", which seems to imply they're mock-up screenshots, that is to say made up ones, not from a real game...

People always over look the obvious.
WIP = Work In Progress
Mock = Mock-up

Now have a look at some of those file names and... TA DA!

Edit: R-r-r-r-r-estatement.

Very interesting find, maybe you can contact the person who's hosting the photos and see what exactly they're working on.

My main complaint is that they should make Link resemble the Link from Zelda II more.
In otherwords, his hair should be brown.

I was at one time remaking the graphics in Zelda II. I do believe there was a BS Zelda II remake being made at one time for SNES I believe. I have seen some scans from back in the day.

EDIT:

EDIT 2: Here is the link I made a while back. Not my best stuff but I still am happy with it.

Hack or not, the graphical manipulations are beyond incredible.

after a very minimal amount of googling, its not really part of Z2E, although he has offered to contribute graphics and such to them, from "his own" project, so yeah. I defenitely wouldn't think its a hack, though. Hack is the last thing that would've came to my mind.

It's awesome, no doubt. That's the idea I'd like for Rockman into SNES platform. Anyway, yes, it's NOT gameplay, but "fake" pics, amateur sprite and background artwork, probably taken from Zelda 3.

Maybe you should do a little research before you talk. If you've clicked the screens, you'd see nothing is taken from zelda 3, and I doubt anything was taken from anywhere, most sprites look like they were simply drawn ontop of the old sprites, and so-on, and zelda III had no graphics in that style or perspective.

edit: a few tiles, yeah, but the majority of them, no.

Actually the wall behind the red candle looks just like a Zelda 3 dungeon entrance floor. Looks a bit disconcerting for that to be a wall, but that's only because I'm used to Z3.

He needs to re-center the experience point display, and more importantly, Link should be a left-hander!

But these are quibbles compared to the great job he's done with the graphics as a whole. I'd love to play a full game like this, and just imagine SNES sound quality in that game!

You may find more informations at ZFGC : http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=13534.0

Also, for those interested, I found that strange screen of a maybe beta of BS-Zelda 2 :
http://xoomer.alice.it/mononline/unseen/snesmd/zelda2bsx.htm
I don't understand Italian, so if someone would be kind enough to translate it, that'd be nice

Thank you!

It was easy enough to look at the Zelda II artwork and tell what he looks from there.
