Crazy top-down bullet-hell actionrpg. Thing.

Your little guy's attack is a charge-based shield thing. It can dissolve enemy bullets, and if you charge it up high enough to kill the enemy that fired the bullets, the bullets will turn into bonus EXP crystals. As you kill the bosses the normal enemies get progressively harder, and as a result drop progressively more crystals. Despite its simple presentation, I was horribly addicted by this game and played through it in its entirety in two sittings, breaking only for dinner. It took about eight hours.

PROTIP: The Agate Knife artifact supposedly causes the final boss to become harder (and possibly leads to a "best" ending - I got the normal one but did not find the knife.) If you wish to find the knife, do so BEFORE picking up the final boss key (the pendant), as any rooms you have not visited will become inaccessible once the pendant is acquired.

Cool, this is really neat. Pretty unique and fun. I can definitely see myself playing this for hours on end. Is anyone else addicted to "Upgrading equipment?" hehe Great find Gideon Zhi Very fun.

Just finished my second run - the Agate Knife is in the very last room you explore, go figure. It does indeed lead to a different/harder final boss, and the ending is different. Admittedly though, I didn't read the backstory, so neither of the endings made much sense to me :p

I sunk about 30 minutes into this so far and it's not half bad. I'm kinda wondering if it was right to use Woodman's theme from MM2 as a Boss theme though. :\

EDIT: A little further now, got about 48% of the enemies cleared out. I take it back, that wasn't the boss theme. I got owned by the first several times through. Good thing I didn't try Wuss Mode off the top or this probably would've got dull on me. :\

Holding a button and letting go of it when entering a new room isn't fun for me.

I'll pass.

Well this game gets a +++++ on the music side. I thought the main theme sounded familiar. It's Ice Frontier by Skaven...he happens to be one of my favorites and that one is one of his older tracker files. I've simmed some of his stuff for Stepmania.

Meh. That's a boring way to play.
I'm blitzing through everything as fast as I can, and I stopped collecting hearts and crystals. For a while, the character seemed like a total munchkin. I just killed the second boss though and now enemies seem to have doubled in strength. I actually have to be careful to keep from getting hurt now.
63.5% rooms, 83.1% enemies (I cleared out all the enemy vaults asap)
No wuss mode. I've died about... 8 times I'd guess. I've still got 11 lives in stock, and enough hearts to probably get to 13 lives scattered around if I ever stop to use a crystal machine. Lvl 18 everything.

Figured out the formula for drops from enemies. They'll drop a crystal for every shot they have, minus however much excess power you used in the current blast (power of blast - power required to kill strongest enemy you killed). And then a set number of crystals on top of themselves.
I'm amazed I haven't killed my computer with the sheer number of projectiles.

I don't know. Personally, it's iether that, or go in and get killed while you charge up.

The controls also seemed rather weird (just barely touching a door instantly switched to it, and new enemies can enter while you're in front of a door, leading to pointless death)...

What I hate is when there's a monster immediately inside of a room, and there's no way to enter without landing on top of it and having it slap a heart out of you regardless of how buff your shields are.

Currently at 60.9% explored, 82.9% cleared.

The physics of this game sucks and the gameplay is way too... bleh. :/

Reminds me too much about a typical crappy game that... certain students on a certain course made make.

Does the final boss count as a room or something, i'm at 2999/3000 explored and I'm ready to grab the medallion but I can't find the last one I really wish that map was variable-zoom...

ouch. No, the final boss is not a seperate room. My 3000th room was actually the fourth boss room, so I got to fight the fourth boss as an uber powerful munchkin.
Then the final boss went and mopped the floor with me 6 times before I managed to win.
