Where I live (ill) we got 6 inches of snow. This is the second time this year.(That we have gotten a bunch of snow.) And to top things off we have a blizzard warning. The only good thing out of it is that I got a snow day today. Any one else get snow?

snowing like hell outside, I love the snow <3. I hate hearing people whine about it. Bitching about ice is fine, but I love seeing people slip and fall on it <3. cold ftw.

I'm not exactly "bitching" about it. Having to get a newborn out in this is hard to do. I also love the snow to an extent.

You weren't really bitching at all, I've seen alot of bitching in my day, and that would be very low on the sscale. Kids are hard, though. Never know when you've got them bundled up enough and by then they look like they can't move

It wasn't snowing this morning (kinda' rainy actually) yet I still got out of school... It's snowing hard now so I guess my county did make a good decision for once.

We don't get snow. Cold is good though because my winter wardrobe is infinitely more stylish than my summer wardrobe.

Down here in Texxshuss we get schools and workplaces closing for a few days just because "it's too cold!"

The slightest bit of ice on roads seems to grip everyone here with Level 5 Terror You drive somewhere that's actually open on one of those days, and people say stuff like "oh, be careful! there's ice on the roads!" Well, since I don't drive like an idiot in the first place, I don't even notice the danger. Besides, salt/sand gets poured all over it anyhow.

Yea, and I'm really nervous about taking him out. He's barely two weeks old. (FYI: he's only my brother)

edit: And to top things off, they are just now shoveling off roads.

I bet you live pretty close to me (Carol Stream) because we got about six inches of snow too, and had our second snow day this year! ! Where in Illinois do you live?

I'm used to it, living here in the Midwest almost my entire life. When I was small and didn't have to drive myself anywhere, snow was the best part of winter. Now it is just dangerous as hell, because snow often also entails ice as well... We received about 4 inches or so, I'd estimate, nothing TOO major.

I really enjoy this weather. This is the 3rd day our school got called off. We haven't gotten called off in 3 years before this year. I just hate when we get the very cold and dry air. I get bad dry skin and it cracks open and gets sore.

I hate storms in the winter a lot more than I hate them in the summer. Snow storms mean I have to get out and shovel the driveway which gets really annoying especially when there is a lot of snow. We're supposed to get a big snow storm tomorrow that may result in school closures.
