As some of you may know, I started a hack called, The Legend of Pols Voice, a hack of the Legend of Zelda, a while back. Since I've gotten most of this game completed, I started graphics hacking A Link to the Past, changing Link into Pols Voice. I changed nearly all graphics successfully into Pols Voice. I ended up having 1 problem that I didn't get to until last.
The problem has to do with shared graphics, where one graphic is used in more than one occasion. Surprisingly, it's only happened in 2 spots, one of these was fixable. The other happened to not be so fixable. Usually there are ways to fix it based on creative thinking, this time of which I couldn't think of anything to fix it. The last thing I thought to do was ask for help here.
This problem, is partially due to Pols Voice being shorter than Link. The graphic where Link is swimming upward on the screen, this head is also used as the facing upward head, so if I change one, the other also changes as well, so I'm left with either, a 2 headed Pols Voice when he faces upward, or a blank flash as Pols Voice is swimming upward.
I've thought this over for quite a while with no solution of my own. Any A Link to the Past hackers, you're welcome to help and I thank you for any of it. If you need anything to help you help me, then tell me and I'll gladly supply the information as needed.

Isn't making the pols voice bigger in height while it's swimming a good idea?

As it seems the game hard coded that, so you should just make the pols voice of the size of Link atleast while it's swimming north. I don't think many will notice unless the size differences are huge...

Surely expanding the trail of water left behind link in the graphics of him swimming would fix this... itd be a simple matter of moving his body up in the tiles (leaving it the same size as pols voice) but having the rest of the 16x16 tile filled with the water?

Perhaps an example of your new graphics would help?

I'd like to say thanks for attempting to help, I appreciate it.

To darkwitch: It isn't really a matter of making Pols Voice taller, mainly because only Link's head was used while swimming. This would require Pols Voice to be where Link's head used to be.

To NEONswift: Expanding the water trail behind Pols Voice wasn't going to work. As soon as you said water trail, I forgot the fact I could draw Pols Voice there WITH the water trail in order to keep the graphic looking realistic (as realistic as Pols Voice gets ) and without having to make any graphics look bad or confusing. I got it changed now and it's working perfectly.

Thank you both for helping, and I'm glad you said water trail, NEONswift, or that idea would have never popped into my head. I feel so stupid about that simple fix.
