Whoa whoa whoa. This looks pretty cool. They don't seem that hard to get off eBay either.

Anyone else ever heard of this thing? Have any experiences with it? I'm seriously considering getting one.

While the FC Twin is Super Famicom compatible, two plastic tabs in the cartridge slot prevent them from fitting. These tabs must be removed- or otherwise worked around- to play Super Famicom titles. Similar tabs are used in the American Super NES. Note that it is not PAL compatible in any way as so a universal adapter is necessary to play PAL games.

That just sounds even more awesome.

I've never seen anything like that before, didn't even know it could exist I should buy 1 concidering my NES and SNES are starting to go. Although unless one of them break I don't think I'll pay $50 for one.

I got super excited, and ordered one.

Seriously though, I need one. Though I've kept my 2nd SNES in great shape, it won't hurt to have. Though I have an FC NES, I can only hope this one is compatible with Castlevania 3.

I wish I could find those... My gamestop doesn't have them. I would give anything to find a bucket of used SNES/NES games.

I'm lucky to have Vintage Stock's all over around my area. I couldn't even begin to mention how many rare games I've gotten from those stores (Secret of Mana, Megaman X2 / X3, Star Ocean 2, Ogre Battle, etc etc).

Vintage Stock is made of Awesome. When my mom lived in Tulsa I used to go to one every time I visited. Can't beat thier prices on the more rare old games. Throw in used cds, books, toys, a comic book section, and some tabletop stuff and it rounds out to one bitchin store.

I wish we had anything remotely like that around here.

Tanks: Check out pawn shops. The ones around here all seem to have a good bit of SNES and N64 carts. Maybe they will in your area too.

There was a pawn shop near my place a few years ago selling NES games at 10-15 dollars each.

I think they went under, just a hunch.

Wow. I'd never heard of this before, but it looks really cool. I might actually consider getting one. I just have to figure out if I have $50 lying around that I have nothing better to do with.

We had a Game X Change starting up a new store around here, but they only lasted for about a year or so. Probably because it was located between Target and Best Buy, with a Gamestop down the street. That and the employee's were terrible.

That's where I got my FC NES, but oh well.

Sadly, I missed their huge "going under" sale.

ONES WHO DOES NOT HAVE TRIFORCE FREQUENT THRIFT STORES CAN'T GO IN.

Seriously, you have no idea how many NES and SNES games I've acquired through them. But that all depends on donations.

Flea markets are a good source, also. A lot of times there are vendors who don't sell at such things full time but only do it once in a while to get rid of things.

You can get games and action figures and whatnot for nice prices this way a lot of the time.

Garage/yard sales are usually worth spending 5-10 minutes in driving and browsing as well.

Fuck it. I was excited but the Wiki clearly states that the NES sound emulation is less then perfect. I want to play Tecmo Super Bowl again DAMNIT and I want it to sound perfect! (I bought a new connector for my NES, but I fucked it up by not cleaning the contacts on my games thus destroying the connector)

Yikes.

Maybe you can still find an official top loading NES somewhere. Last time I went into a Vintage Stock they were teh cheap.

I replaced my oldschool NES as soon as they came out and have been thankful for it ever since.

I honestly can't believe how everyone is somehow shocked and amazed at this thing. People have been making Famiclones for years and years and years. The fact that this houses two in a single casing is nothing surprising.

Yeah, and it's not even PAL compatible and has those SFC lockout tabs. WTF? It's neat, but it could have been a lot better. NES controller support would be piss-easy, you can even wire SNES controllers to an NES or vice-versa. And for being made in 2006, the inability to load games off an SD card is disappointing. (OK, maybe I'm asking too much. )
