Check this out. I was tweaking the RAM of Super Mario World just after I took a snapshot of it. What I did was set Mario's x speed to 60 and weird stuff started happening after I reloaded the RAM. Mario was too hyper so he forgot to get Yoshi and ran into a Koopa and died. But that's not even part of the weirdness. Some strange music started playing when he died rather than the normal death music. Finally I was able to play the title screen. It's really short and has no end. There was no time limit and Mario's lives were set to P5. But don't take my word for it, give it a try. This is one of the weird things that I'm uncovering although it probably has been uncovered. Check out the memory map for the location of Mario's x speed.

Adding/moving/removing a single block/sprite in level C7 can screw up the animation. Sorry, but this is well known.
