| I always hated ads, doesn't matter where they are or what type of ads they are, I hate them in general, and seeing that I click the New Reply/Thread buttons below, I always see it and stare at it thinking "OMG an ad, need to remove". Seriously, it doesn't really affect me or something, but Ace's was much better without ads.
What's the purpose of them? Just earning money in a small form? |

Google doesn't do pop-ups because they're... well... Google.  It totally goes against their image/ideals. |

| At first I didn't mind, because hey, they're just plain text ads that blend into the page well; I barely even notice them. In fact I took the effort to fix up some ad-blocking scripts in Proxomitron so that they would show up, because blocked ads don't make any money.
But then I saw this... 
Ka-block. I thought Google was above that. 
Also, when I open a thread which I've read before I often hit End and scroll up to the first post I haven't read, so being at the bottom does little good.  |

| I don't know what to say about the ads. Somtimes they're annoying but most of the time you don't notice them anyway. When I noticed them for the first time I wondered how long they had been there. I thought I had just never noticed them before. | |||

| I don't see why this is even a discussion honestly.. It is at the bottom of the page, it is not obstructive in any way, it is not causing you any harm.. You are not being asked to click them, you do not need to click them for them to take effect..
What is the problem? This is an easy and painless way to help pay for the boards server, I can't see why anyone would care.. |
