What is in the box o' brain hurtz is also known as the headache creators will they live up to their name or be squashed by Acmlm Board peeps? Lets see!

We will start off easily....

What walks on four legs in the morning, two in the evening, and three at night?~Riddle of the Sphinx (or close enough to be)

Here is a bit of a long one...

A stranger walked into the local sweet shop and bought chocolates for six shillings. He paid with a ten-shilling note, which they could not change, and so the shopkeeper went next door to the tobacconist, who was able to change the note for him. The shopkeeper returned with the change, gave the four shillings' change to the stranger, who then left. The tobacconist returned the next day with the note, which turned out to be counterfeit. The owner of the sweet shop was obliged to give him his ten shillings back. How much did the sweet shop lose altogether?

Here is a third one for good measure....

Try to find the mistake!!!

Today we shall prove that 4 = 5

Suppose a = b + c
then 5a = 5b + 5c
and 4b + 4c = 4a
adding 5a + 4b + 4c = 5b + 5c + 4a
subracting 9a from both sides
4b + 4c - 4a = 5b + 5c - 5a
or 4(b + c - a) = 5(b + c - a)
dividing both sides by (b + c - a) we get 4 = 5.

Find the mistake and after all 3 of these problems are answered I will make more!

A baby, then a man, then an old man with a cane. I've heard that a million times.

Divide by zero. a = b + c, therefore b + c - a = 0, therefore you performed an illegal operation on that last step.

The second one is easy.
After the exchange, the shopkeeper assumes he has traded chocolates for 6 shillings. He then finds out that he owes 10 shillings. So in net, he lost 4 shillings and the chocolates. Or 10 shillings if you count the chocolates as money instead.

My brain's not hurting yet. I demand a refund.

Here are the next three...

A hunter was hunting alone and he was running short of food. Luckily he met two shepherds, one of whom had three small loaves and the other five. When the hunter asked them for food they agreed to divide the loaves equally among the three of them. The hunter thanked them for the food and paid the shepherds 8 piasters.
How did the shepherds divide the money?

and another.....

Anna and Elizabeth made a bet. anna said that she could walk 6,000 steps in less time than Elizabeth could put 200 apples into a basket. The apples were lying in a row, each one step away from the next. Who won the bet?

and the final.....

There are four black cows and three brown cows. These give the same amount of milk in 5 days as three black cows and five brown cows in 4 days. Which are the better milk producers the black cows or the brown cows?

I know these arent hard but we have just seen the tip of the iceburg!!!

I'm not really good at riddles... but I do think Anna won the bet, because you can't fit 200 apples into a basket?

well.... lemme give u two hints
1) it requires math
2) use a calculator or a REALLY LONG piece of paper and lets pretend that you can fit them into the basket by piling them reaaaalllllllyyyy high

The Brown cows are the better milk producers. (Chocolate Milk, I presume )

Anna and Elizabeth made a bet. anna said that she could walk 6,000 steps in less time than Elizabeth could put 200 apples into a basket. The apples were lying in a row, each one step away from the next. Who won the bet?

Assuming anna and eliz. both walk at the same rate, and anna picks up one apple and returns it to the basket, anna will win because:

eliz has to walk 1 step forward, 1 step back, 2 steps forward, 2 steps back. This is the sum of the first n integers, aka n(n+1)/2, but she walks them twice, so it is just n*(n+1) or 200*201 = 40200 steps > 6000 steps.

There are four black cows and three brown cows. These give the same amount of milk in 5 days as three black cows and five brown cows in 4 days. Which are the better milk producers the black cows or the brown cows?

if we assign the amount of milk produced as 1 unit, we get the following:
x = black cows rate of production
y = brown..................................

5(4x + 3y) = 1
and
4(3x + 5y) = 1

20x + 15y = 1
12x + 20y = 1

80x + 60y = 4
-36x - 60y = -3

44x = 1
x = 1/44

20/44 + 15y = 1
15y = 1 - 20/44
15y = 24/44 = 6/11
y = 6/165 = 2/55 =.0363636 > x = 1/44 = 0.02272727
so the y's, aka the brown cows win. how now brown cow?

Ok, fine be that way!

If they all divided the loaves equally, then each got 8/3 or 2 and 2/3. The one shepherd with 3 loaves would have kept his 2 and 2/3 and provided one third to the hunter. The shepherd with 5 loaves would have kept his 2 and 2/3 and given the remaining 2 and 1/3 to the hunter. So, the man with 5 loaves provided 7 * that of the man with 3 loaves, so the hunter gave the man with 5 loaves seven piasters and the man with 3 loaves 1 piaster. So .

Well, I shall do so I suppose.

A certain king is rather looney, and he decides to execute his 100 advisors. However, he wants to give them a sporting chance, so he divises a test to allow them to save themselves. He places all of the 100 advisors in a row and puts either a red hat or a green hat on their heads. Every advisor can see and acurratly count the hats of either color that are in front of them (So the last person in line can see the hats of the 99 people in front of him and count them correctly).

No person may see behind them and no person may see the color of their own hat. The king will go to the back of the line and ask that person what color his hat is. If he answers correctly he will be spared, if he answers incorrectly he will be killed. The king will then ask the next person and so on and so forth.

The advisors are however allowed to get together and agree on a strategy beforehand. What is the most people that can be guaranteed to be saved, given the hats are distributed arbitrarily?

Example: You could guarantee you save half of the people if the first person calls
the color of the next persons hat, then that person knows his hat color and calls it and then you repeat.
